This is about the set of phrases that you will receive if you tell someone that you want to buy a convertible. Do not believe. No, this is not for envy. They just did not try. In order to dispel all these doubts, only one thing must be done. Just sit in a convertible and open the roof. And then you will only have one question: how and why people drive in these tight, closed iron boxes in which the sky is not visible?!
And the view of the world will change. Hair? There is a cap, there is a shampoo. Quickly go? And where to rush? Since I have tried the car with an open roof for the first time, these emotions are returning with every new machine, which has a treasured button for a radical improvement in visibility. So what, what's on the street +14 and clouds? Down with the iron shackles. Give the sky!
The convertible is difficult to assess seriously. Suspension nuances, box work is boring, brothers! But it is. This time, a new player in the market of soft and hard folding roofs fell into our hands: Peugeot 308 CC. He appeared in Russia a year and a half after the hatchback with index 308 and became the heir to the 307 SS model.
The change of generation was beneficial for the car to look easier, more elegant, faster. The top remained two-section, so the back is still massive in appearance, but it visually facilitates the spoiler on the lid of the trunk and black diffusers from below. Yes, and the beak on the hood balances the image, and the sidewalls with decorative substetricians give speakers.
A convertible and should be more dynamic, sports than a mundane family hatchback. And in order to emphasize these differences, engineers slightly reconfigured the suspension. But they treated with little blood: they slightly expanded the track and put more rigid shock absorbers, which, by the way, PEUGEOT still produces independently. And, of course, low -profile tires.
All this together really makes SS more interesting than the usual 308th Rids to the steering wheel alive, the car easily and accurately enters the turns of pleasure! But at the same time, there is no excess sharpness, nervousness. The fact that above the head is not the usual power structure of an ordinary roof, but a complex mobile structure resemble only rare creaking of plastic: the rigidity with a closed roof is quite sufficient, even on irregularities there are no unpleasant sensations of excessive supple for the body.
And also, unlike the hatchback, the rear suspension is not heard here. I remember that on the first trip to the Peugeot 308, she voiced the condition of the road surface more strongly. Maybe thanks to a separate trunk, or maybe engineers corrected something in the design, but even on uneven roads the suspension behaved quietly.
Changes in the cabin compared to the five -door minimum. The seats were pulled 15 mm ago and down (to compensate for the changed angle of inclination of the windshield), the seats themselves became more sports and look good, and lateral support became better.
Down with the roof! Now life is getting better. There is a feeling of pleasure from life, and everyday life becomes holidays. However, the cabin is not hot! If you do not put a windproof screen, then the wind after 100 km/h begins to cause inconvenience. Believes mainly in the area of \u200b\u200bthe back of the head, armrest and neck. By the way, a scarf is prepared for the driver and passenger’s neck and passenger. Not a woolen air. The system called Airwave consists of a heated fan built in the back of the front seats, which forms a warm stream of air.
But this luxury is only included in the more expensive FELINE configuration, in the Sport Pack version it must be ordered separately, or the neck will have to be protected by affordable improvised means. But behind, despite the presence of two seats, it is better not to ride. The legs are crowded, and greatly blows after 50 km/h. And you can’t put a windproof screen. So a large company only under the roof.
The behavior of the car on the road with a folded roof almost does not differ from driving under the cap. Yes, if there are irregularities in the bend, then a slightly smaller body rigidity is felt, but this does not lead to intimidation from the trajectory, or to vibrations and strengthening the creaks in the cabin. It does not affect pleasure, but for such a machine this is the main thing!
The engine for an open three hundred eighth is offered only one well -known turbo engine with a volume of 1.6 liters, developed jointly with BMW. He is here in two persons: on the version with the automatic transmission, he develops 140 hp, and on traditional mechanics 150. The maximum torque of 240 nm is already reached at a speed of 1400 rpm, which does not provide a lightly decent dynamics. A 1512 kg (in the variant with manual transmission) weighs a capricious compartment, which is almost 200 kg heavier than the hatchback, and accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds, for a second slower than a closed car.
But when choosing a box, you should break your head. On the one hand, the machine is convenient, comfortable and better corresponds to a relaxed convertible image. But on the other hand, a fairly old design, only 4 steps and, as a result, no emotions left from the cheerful motor. It becomes just an engine. With just a box. And I want more! To press the gas and the soul sang. Please, here you have mechanics. A clear lever drive, a good clutch. And the ability to save 1.8 seconds when accelerating to 100 km/h. For myself, I would choose just such an option.
The list of configurations is also small. Sport Pack is simpler, and, accordingly, cheaper. The base price is from 1 036 000 rubles. It has almost everything that needs ESP, front and lateral airbags (and even unique individual pillows to protect the head), separate climate control, cruise control (with a function of speed limit). It is equipped with either a mechanical checkpoint or automatically (surcharge of 37 thousand).
The more expensive version of Feline is available only with automatic transmission and costs from 1,153,000 rubles. It differs in the presence of the same Airwave system, parkingate, headlight washing, light and rain sensors, and wheels in this configuration of more than 17 inches against 16 Sport Pack. However, 18-inch can be delivered for a surcharge. For this money at your disposal in winter, spring and autumn a full trunk, and in the summer you will have the whole sky!
