Long -term Opel Corsa test: third part
the second month was overlooked as the bright Opel Corsa Color Edition became my editorial vehicle. All this time, she conscientiously worked out her gasoline, ensuring my movement from point A to point B, without delivering any trouble. Unless, of course, consider constant attention from others with troubles.


Almost one and a half thousand kilometers behind. Despite the frequent business trips, Corsa is not idle, I drive it a lot. And I myself somehow got a word: I don’t smile anymore, like a half-hearted, seeing a bright yellow mischievous in the yard. For me, the Corsa Color Edition has turned into just Corses over time, I turned out to be and stopped noticing its charms. He just sat down and rode.


Just Corsa loves Sunday Moscow, free avenues, quiet lanes winding in the center of the street. Here she feels in her place: curtain, a nimble and easy to climb.

But those who are outside, still perceive the Corses, like a fiery whirlwind on the streets of Moscow preparing for winter. Show with fingers, with interest. It is even strange to feel so much attention at the wheel of a modest car in a common car. But I am also used to it too.


Corsa easily travels along the tram rails of the metropolitan boulevards. And 17-inch wheels are still intact.

But do not perceive it as a reproach. This is rather a compliment. Not every car can so calmly and habitually enter your life, especially having such bright external data. But Corsa became her own. Hard worker. It will always help, he will not refuse anything.


A beautiful body kit, of course, slightly reduces the road clearance. In summer, this is absolutely not felt, but problems may arise in winter. I know firsthand: I myself owned two years a car with a developed aerodynamic package.

Need to go to work at the Smolensk ring? No problem, let's go! Moving 130 kilometers per hour on the highway on the long road is not very comfortable, but it is possible. There is also cruise control.

But the suspension works perfectly: even on 17-inch wheels, even with a sports package provided for Color Edition, it is not terrible for the holes of Smolensk roads. Omnivorous amazing.

Need to transport friends to a new apartment? Easy to. Three people, a full trunk and the back seat of bags, and Corses will be hard. Only 100 horses under the hood on a dry soldier Euro V and I am reluctant to take me alone, but they don’t want to run away with such a load. We have to twist the motor, which, of course, affects the consumption of fuel. I already switched up to 10.2 liters per hundred kilometers of mileage. A lot, especially given the modest engine volume 1.4 and passport expense of 5.5 liters.

When loading the corsa to the eyeballs, it turned out that the trunk in this configuration (with a shelf leveling the floor with folded rear seats) is very small. There is still a lot of unanimous space under the shelf: there is no spawn. But you can only put something flat under it. Quite uncomfortable. And it is also impossible to remove the entire regiment in the bottom completely an uncomfortable niche.

Acceleration at Corsa, as we have already found out, is not very good. However, this did not stop her once morning on a weekday to bring me to Sheremetyevo Airport in just 48 minutes. And I can go 30 kilometers along the Kyiv highway, then the Moscow Ring Road and Leningrad. We drove fervently, it was impossible to be late for a flight. The Corsa has a fairly transparent steering wheel, and the 17th wheels and a slightly clamped suspension endow it with stability in maneuvers. This is not to say that the handling is acute. Rather, reliable and understandable. Like all just Cors.


I spent more than a month in this chair and I can only say good about it: my back is not tired, the landing is convenient, lateral support is sufficient, but unobtrusive.

She is calm and performing. I agree to everything: long-range, cargo transportation, sprint to the airport, on the daily routine house-work-house. But he himself loves city walks most. She likes the city crowd when no one notices the weaknesses of her motor. He loves to swear in front of the nose of some heavyweight only she was seen. It is great to drive on it with slack of friends, but not very speedy turns.

In the end, it is easy to park due to small dimensions. And preferably in front of a huge showcase of some coffee shop. So that she herself would be happy with her bizarre reflection and pleasing to the eye of visitors to the cafe, for whom it is not just Cors, but look what a cutie. The cutie is. This is me just a word.
