To release restyled versions of Terrano II has become a kind of good tradition for Nissan. The next (fourth) edition of the SUV, presented at the beginning of this year, can now be bought in Russia.
 
The baptism of the Russian mud updated Nissan Terrano took place at the training ground in Dmitrov, Moscow Region. It was assumed that here, in front of the amazed public (and these were journalists from Russia's automobile publications), the Japanese will show us all Kuzkin’s mother. That is, brilliant off -road qualities.
 
Apparently, in order to avoid confusion with the predecessor, the prefix - the Roman deuce disappeared from the name of the car. Now these are not two, but simply Terrano. However, in addition to changing the sign, there should have any more changes?
 
Having walked around the SUV, I begin to bend my fingers: another front bumper and radiator cladding - once and two, and a hood with a more convex substete - three. Everything seems to be. Moreover, the last is not a designer sort of Isku, but rather a tribute to necessity, because now a three -liter turbodiesel with direct fuel injection is installed on Terrano (the more large -scale Nissan Patrol GR is equipped with the same engine).
 
A five-door modification (three-door, due to low demand for them, will not be delivered to Russia will not be delivered to the court of journalistic fraternity), equipped with the aforementioned turbodiesel 3.0 and a mechanical gearbox.
 
A slightly swinging body and light rumbling announced the awakening of the 154-horsepower engine. Diesel - and in Africa diesel: no matter how hard you are, it will be stronger to make noise than a gasoline fellow. Although it is impossible to say that this noise is annoying: even at speeds higher, the average number of decibels is comparable to the Ford Transit minibus working on the idle motor of my beloved Minibus.
 
But a high torque, reaching a maximum of 304 Nm already at 1600 min-1, allows you to go outside the road, absolutely without straining. For the sake of interest, I even tried to ride along the laid highway without using the gas pedal at all, and if it were not for the fear of drowning the motor that forced me on especially steep lifts to skip the unfortunate pedal on the floor, I would have succeeded one hundred percent!
 
And so Terrano at the idle (!) Walks obediently moved along the bumps and slopes of the landfill, easily leaving some specially blurry and traveled ruts. With the speed of a phlegmatic pedestrian, he forced an artificial ford with a depth of almost half a meter and about ten lengths. Moreover, everything that was required of me was nothing more than adjusting the trajectory of movement! Not only the engine helped to create such miracles, but also a previously involved reducing transfer of the handout. By the way, only positive impressions remained from the work of the mechanical KP: the curtains are short, the programs are turned on exemplary clearly.
 
In pauses I look closely at Terrano's interior. Here they are, the distinguishing strokes of the new items indicated in the press release: the skin of the four -spoke steering wheel, the dashboard of the original design with a speedometer marked up to 200 km/h (the declared maximum wiper is 170 km/h), more ergonomic steering wheel switches and seats with increased to 25 mm pillow length. A special athermal film of Securisol is now glued to glass, which helps a new air conditioning system to cope with the heat. As for the interior, it has not changed, but rather transformed - due to better decoration materials.
 
But this, as they say, is only the surface part of the iceberg. Many innovations are hidden from the eyes and do not remind you of the X -EX - I mean security systems. Now all Terrano are standardly equipped with ABS and EBD, and the anti -lock system is sleeping at a speed of less than 8 km/h, which can come in handy on the descents from steep slopes. In addition to frontal eirbegs, the standard luxury and electral eirbegs, as well as the active headrests of the front seats, in the event of a blow, are moving forward and upward, thereby reducing the risk of injury to the cervical vertebrae.
 
The first acquaintance with the updated Nissan Terrano once again was, unfortunately, short -lived. Therefore, I do not take the courage to continue the detailed painting of its advantages and disadvantages. However, many of my colleagues managed to penetrate with respect for the car. And it is caused, which is characteristic, not a tribute to the age of the model, which soon celebrates its decade, but a sense of confidence that Terrano inspires due to its outstanding off -road qualities. He still managed to show us Kuzkin's mother!
