And do not be afraid of anything. So they usually say to those who are preparing to jump into the unknown. It was such a jump in 2002 that Nissan made: the manufacturer of modest Primera, Terrano II and Almera intended to fight CBMW X5 and Lexus RX300 on their own field. So the big luxury-class crossover named Murano was born. An unusual car, moreover, not only because of a new and completely unknown Japanese company of the concept, but also due to appearance, technical filling and the general level as a whole. The idea and execution were so successful that the machine, originally aimed at America, eventually ended up in Russia (moreover, completely officially!). Then she was subjected to much more severe tests than could be represented in the States. (We believe, to remind of the two troubles of our country, one of which repair the other, unnecessarily.) And how, in the end, this wonderful car withstood the test of Russia?
 
The test of domestic ideas about the aesthetics of Murano suffered stoically: the car is very elegant (albeit slightly full). As if embarrassed by his grace, he put on someone else's, moreover, a very brutal mask: the massive grille of the radiator, coupled with small headlights, does not look very appropriate (or maybe the design reached the goal, given that seeing the approaching Murano, from the left series blows off as a wind?) . However, the appearance is a matter of taste, which cannot be said about stability to corrosion: there are hardly people who rejoice in red spots on the body. And if there are such, then Murano will disappoint them greatly: there are practically no problems with the body, the car perfectly resists rust!
 
A potential buyer will probably appeal to the salon, if only because it looks very unusual: what is the instrument panel, adjustable in height with the steering column! Spread motorists will appreciate the electrical package, good music with a CD player, climate control, and all this is included in the base (and in addition there are lotions such as the pedal node adjustable by the buttons, the on-board computer, etc.). In addition, a spacious salon: there are plenty of space in front and behind. Plus, the car has a rather capacious trunk (its maximum volume in the cargo layout with a folded rear seat is more than 2300 liters!).
 
However, the all -terrain vehicle from Murano is unimportant (in fairness it should be noted that the fragmentation coupling is blocked in all -wheel drive versions), but on the roads with a coating, this car pleases with remarkable controllability. True, if you like a comfortable movement, Murano is definitely not your car: the fact is that for the sake of good controllast, the Japanese pretty much clamped the suspension, thereby donating to the smoothness. But the model is endowed with cool dynamics: a 3.5-liter V6, together with the variator, allows the car to accelerate at the level of business class sedans with engines of 2.5-2.7 liters.

The aforementioned V6 is the only power unit installed on Murano. And this is great: he does not need another motor. V6’s traction potential has a huge engine (VQ35DE has a time to prove it on different Nissan and Infiniti models, as well as some Renault). There are no special problems with reliability: it is periodically required to only change oil with filters (once by 15 thousand km), well, candles (they are equipped with platinum electrodes and enough for about 25 thousand km). Other expenses rarely happen, but if they nevertheless happen, they turn out to be quite ruin: for example, sometimes it will be necessary to regulate valve clearance (according to the regulations every 100 thousand km, although in fact they do not have time to stray for such a run). In addition, sooner or later you will have to fork out to replace catalysts, which are already four pieces. And they cost 40 thousand rubles. (We think that even a very wealthy owner is unlikely to unrest the installation of flame arrears instead of neutralizers, because this will cost a much more reasonable amount; we note that there are also four pieces of oxygen sensors to the joy of motorists). In general, if you distract from the troubles mentioned, the engine is distinguished by heroic health.
 
But the transmission, alas, is not so impeccable. The variator used in all Murano is very tender: overheating as a result of an energetic riding often causes a refusal of the node (the death gives out that the car ceases to respond to the gas pedal as before). European versions of the car received an additional radiator of cooling of the variator (as well as an additional air supply to it), but this is not a panacea. If the car, as they say, tear, then you can kill the variator at a time. The handout does not like a hard ride: too high temperatures turn the gears into a crumb (the cause of overheating is not only funny starts, but also a low level of oil, which it is advisable to check with each visit to the service).
 
Murano suspension, as we have already found out, is not particularly soft: it is short -lived, and it is easy to break it off. At the same time, the rigidity is compensated by reliability: even such details as the racks of the anterior reptile stability stabilizer serve for a very long time (over 70 thousand km, and this is despite the fact that in other cars they fail and after 20 thousand km of mileage on normal Russian roads). And the resource of more expensive parts (well, there are shock absorbers, levers) and completely exceeds 100 thousand km. As for the durability of the details of the brake system, it all depends on the driver: the pads can be erased in dust after 10 thousand km of operation, and you can use one set of 30 thousand km (discs, as a rule, go two or three times longer, than the pads).
 
So, the Japanese jumped and did not go into the abyss: they landed, albeit on a very hard surface, but successfully. In addition, Murano adequately repelled the attack of luxury crossovers who attacked him from among competitors. It turns out that from the point of view of marketing this model is an unconditional victory. Six years that have passed since the debut of the car, they convincingly proved: Murano is a very good car, however, to a certain extent tender. In general, for an amateur. But, firstly, lovers were enough for the model to continue to live. And secondly, tenderness in this case does not mean brittleness: if you relate to the car with love, it will most likely reciprocate.
