Officially, this car in Russia seems to be not. But on the streets he meets us as if every day. It is so noticeable - Nissan Murano.
Choosing a name for the novelty, the American branch of Nissan made a somewhat strange move at first glance: Murano - an island near Venice - has been famous for color glass for several centuries. For a model that is considered an SUV, albeit parquet, associations with exquisite and fragile works of art are not quite appropriate. However, there is no need to become slaves of stereotypes. To begin with, Murano is not quite an SUV.
Takes tightly! Mixing characteristic features of different classes in one car is a favorite hobby of automakers. It can be seen that the Murano cocktail was prepared according to the same recipe as the Buick Rendezvous, which we have almost unknown, and the officially imported Lexus RX300. The latter have already accustomed customers to the fact that a large station wagon of increased patency may differ in a rapid silhouette.
One cannot but admit that Murano among them is the most pample, that is, the most spectacular. Stuffer than such pro -American classmates as Honda Pilot or Acura MDX. No wonder: Nissan is the freshest of them. Formally, he made his debut less than a year ago, American dealers began to be accepted only in the fall of last year at the beginning of 2003. And despite the fact that it is officially sold only in the USA and Canada (even in Mexico they do not offer it), they make this car in Japan.
FRESH JUICE. As part of the concept of global unification of Murano, it was created on one of the promising platforms - it is called FLF and in the near future, obviously, will become the basis for the new Nissan Maxima. From her, Murano received, in particular, an independent suspension of all wheels. It differs in an increased height and, of course, with a road clearance - not too much, however, jeper, but still - 180 mm. The engine is only one, 3.5-liter V6 with a capacity of 245 forces. The version of this motor for the current and future Maxima is slightly more powerful: perhaps the engine characteristics for Murano were just a little fitted for the variator - this is the only type of transmission that is equipped with the machine. The transmission has the name - Xtronic, and Nissan is legally proud that the almost first in the world was proposed by a stranded variator who has coined with the engine of such a large working volume. And the most first first Nissan applied the variator on an all-round of this class.
For Murano, two versions of the variator are provided: ordinary and with the possibility of manual switching - the latter provides seven gears, more precisely, fixed pulleys of pulleys. Almost all sellers carry only the most expensive modifications with a complex box to Russia. And, of course, it is impossible to find a modification with us with a drive to the front axle-firstly, such machines are in demand mainly in America, and secondly, from two wheels of sellers and Navar is not the same.
According to the Murano transmission algorithm-the semblance of the X-Trail model: in normal mode, the power from the engine is transmitted to the front wheels, but when the leading leaders are slipped, the rear ones are connected. There is also a forced connection of all -wheel drive with simultaneous locking of the center differential.
Of course, the standard equipment includes ABS and electronic distribution of brake force, as well as an assistant emergency braking. On the expensive version of the SE, which is mainly taken to Russia, are also included in standard equipment ?? The system and complex of dynamic stabilization - Nissan he calls it VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control). There is also an exotic for us as an electric drive adjusting the pedal unit.
Sugar, salt - to taste. In general, the idea is clear: the owner should pay as little attention to all technical details as possible. The engine is more powerful, so that it is enough for any situation, the variator - so as not to suffer with the choice of transmission, I do not want to. Plus an automatic connection of all-wheel drive, safety system, climate control with the possibility of separate adjustment for the left and right sides of the cabin, an audio system of Bose with a cassette and chainer for six discs ... However, Cheeger and some other parts like a hatch and a rail on a roof They are among the options even on the SE configuration and on some machines may be absent. Which, however, will save a thousand or two dollars-Murano prices range in the range of $ 55-58 thousand.
The rear passengers are not forgotten: their sofa backs are adjusted along the angle of inclination in a fairly wide range, and ventilation deflectors are placed on the middle racks. The desire to simplify the life of the owner is manifested even in such details as a special mechanism for folding the rear seats: for this, it is enough to pull for one of the handles on the walls of the trunk, near the door. The seat pillow drops down, and the back falls on it, forming an even platform. The floor of the trunk is quite high, but this is quite justified - under it there is a compartment for a full -sized spare wheel. And Murano tires are rather big - 235/65 R18, there are many places.
Obviously, Nissan should think about the possibility of official supplies of Murano to Russia, even a limited edition. Demand for original cars, especially from the American domestic market, is growing stably in our country.
