Mitsubishi Outlander XL 2.4

Mitsubishi Outlander XL has acquired another configuration. The main trump card was the new 2.4 MIVEC engine. It has become more powerful and easier compared to the previous generation engine.
The big Outlander, which is emphasized by the abbreviation XL, acquired a new 2.4 MIVEC engine. The version with a three -liter engine has proven itself in the Russian market. Still, with such a powerful unit under the hood, the car has an attractive appearance and good handling.
And now Outlander XL has received a new 2.4 liter engine. This is not an ordinary motor that only diversify the gamut. We are talking about a completely new engine with a claim to the main place in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. What is the uniqueness of the novelty?
To begin with, it is worth comparing how much it loses to the three -liter version. By power, the difference is decent all 50 horses. Otherwise, the numbers do not differ so much. Loss in acceleration to 100 km/h is 1.1 s. The maximum speed is smaller by 10 km/h and reaches 190 km/h. It feels like the difference with a stronger motor is felt slightly.
The new motor can be aggregated with a already familiar 5 -speed mechanics or a unavailable variator that does not spoil the impression of a dynamic engine. Good characteristics are largely achieved thanks to the successful alliance of the transmicial motor. But the secret of success is not only this. The power unit itself deserves unconditional attention. It is made according to the new technology: the cylinder block is aluminum and cast under pressure. According to the same principle, the head of the blocks and the intake manifold are made. This made it possible to reduce the mass, compared with the previous version of the motor, by 30%. Also, to reduce weight, they changed the principle of operation of the valve drive. And the engine lost 16 kg, decreasing and in size due to the replacement of a cuneiform belt with a chain. The new engine consumes 100.3 liters of gasoline per 100 km of a suburban highway
