In half an hour, 200 rubles were requested on the sink to refresh the appearance of Mitsubishi. We look at the price list: passenger cars - 150 rubles. Jeeps and minibuses - 200 rubles. Obviously, we hinted that we still have a jeep. It is not necessary to enter into petty discussions, in a couple of days the test can be understood what kind of beast.
However, we are already familiar: for the first time met with Outlander in Spain almost a year ago. To be honest, the first impression was not lubricated, frankly, a decent complete set for such a car: a 2.0 l engine, with a capacity of 136 hp. and manual gearbox. Experience suggests that potential buyers of high-pass universal versions prefer a machine combined with a more powerful engine. In Spain, such a car was shown to us from afar and explained: this is a pre-selected version. True, they were allowed to make a couple of circles around the hotel, however, we didn't feel the tricks of the difference. But the year did not pass, as we travel in Moscow already at an adult Outlander equipped with an adaptive automatic transmission of Invecs-II and a solid engine of 2.4 liters and a capacity of 160 horses. By the way, the buyer is the presence of a machine and extra 24 hp It will cost almost $ 4 thousand - the basic Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 Comfort costs $ 27,990, and our Outlander 2,4 Sport - $ 32,000. So, is it worth such a candle arithmetic?
Do not steal. The only way to save when buying a 160-strong Outlander is to abandon an automatic box. Then the car will cost $ 1.3 thousand cheaper. The rest of the equipment is identical: from an electronic immobilizer to a bright metal threshold of the rear (fifth) door, as the long specification says. But from version 2.0 Comfort, a 2,4-liter car equipment is favorably featured with a richer exterior (moldings, roof rails and other beautiful and useful trivia), interior (insertion under the tree), as well as the presence of side airbags in front and automatic climate control.
 
When buying an automatic version, you will lose not only a thousand with small dollars, but also with a dozen kilometers of maximum speed: the mechanics with a 160-strong motor accelerates up to 200 km / h, while the automaton is up to 190 km / h. For extremal truckers, this is, of course, causing loss. For a normal consumer - nothing. Since the roads with such high-speed characteristics simply do not exist.
 
In the rest of the machine on Mitsubishi frankly good. Outlander accelerates quickly and confidently: and from the place, and in the quarry. In the sense of the traffic light, and at the time of overtaking on the highway, say, from 100 km / h to 150 km / h. In addition, the automatic transmission on this car is adaptive: it is pretty quickly adorganized to the driver's manner and can transfer to up-down a little faster or, on the contrary, slower, depending on the seat temperament.
 
The most temperamental can go on the manual flight control mode - the automatic on the Outlander of the sequential type. Moreover, there is no protection from the fool on it - the electronics can not transfer the transfers depending on the mode of operation mode. The usefulness of such a decision is perhaps only that the experienced driver when moving, say, by off-road, prefers to choose a transfer, not trusting automation.

Do not kill. All the practicality of such a car, like Mitsubishi Outlander, is much easier and faster on Russian roads - there is the place of him. During the Spanish test drive, we were offered to ride in rural primer, abundantly filled with two-day rains. In photographs, water and dirt flowed very effectively, flying out from under the wheels, but no more. In fact, all the same could be done on the usual sedan. The fact that in Spain is off-road, we have an ordinary country road.
 
But for a couple of days of operation, Outlander in Moscow and the near Moscow region believed in the extraordinary possibilities of this car.
Recall that from the ordinary stationary Outlander is distinguished by a constant four-wheel drive (50:50) and clearance (195 mm), which makes the honor of many parquet jeeps. In Spain, this tuning seems to be not needed. We have another matter. The tall body makes it easy and easy to park on a high border or rush around the traffic jams along the tram paths. As easy, the car overcame snowpots in the courtyards and moved along a rustic rut, punched by trucks. Agree, this is not a jeep trial and all these exercises can be done on a passenger car. However, risking to fly into a cuvette or heartbuilding all the bottom. Do you need it?
 
A permanent four-wheel drive allows you to relax at the wheel even on bad winter roads when the ice suddenly replaces the snow pitch and as suddenly - an incomprehensible substance of dirty brown, slippery as glass. Even if Outlander is breaking into a skid, he is caught elementary. What we were convinced, twisting at the frozen parking lot: Losing control over the car succeeded only in a super-extremal situation - a sharp gas with a fully twisted steering wheel. And then Outlander drove sideways somehow reluctantly, he had to constantly provoke him. In general, in ordinary life it does not go.
Do not harm. From the point of view of the ordinary Russian consumer, Outlander is still a jeep. Because the possibilities of the 160-strong version that appeared is slightly higher than the possibilities of the usual station wagon. Outlander significantly expands the horizons of its owner, for example, in comparison with Galant Wagon. And the driver sits higher, and the passengers are spacious, and there is more luggage space. Mitsubishi's parquet SUVs are also not greatly inferior: their owners are rarely enjoyed by a reduced transmission (if it is in general), and the most common obstacle that they have to overcome, - Bordur near his townhouse. But in Outlander's maintenance, much cheaper than the same mighty Pajero with a dusting box from the urban idleness.
 
And if the sellers do not want to position Outlander as a sortier, even even with an add-on parquet, then from justified caution. And then the owners will start jumping on it on the hills near Moscow, and then make a claim to the manufacturer. I could not stand it, they say, the machine of Russian hlybays ...
By the way, one representatives of Mitsubishi were listed to Outlander. Nevertheless, they are shy, calling Outlander just a wagon.
