And weighing 1,031 kg, which participated in a test drive, could not keep the promise to stay within a ton, but still it is almost two centners lighter than the 95-horsepower mini one. As a result, at a short distance along the highway, the results differ for a whole second, and with a fair wind, Mazda demonstrates an even greater gap.
Only at high speed are these differences erased. Nevertheless, in the smooth sections of the highway, both of a nondescript four -cylinder atmospheric engines do not have enough power and torque. Nevertheless, the 1.4-liter Mini motor makes a confident sound, and the Mazda engine, the volume of which is 100 cubes, produces a lot of noise rather than sound. So, we go on a winding road. And admire: an accurate and easily avoiding steering wheel really allows the Japanese to easily and perfectly turn.
But with powerful support from the power control with the servo drive, most of the information about the road surface does not enter the driver. And too pronounced rolls do not really inspire trust. Moreover, the less the radius becomes, the more stubbornly Mazda moves out, and at this time ESP is helplessly trying to muffle the power of the motor. Mini pilots, sitting in their deep sports seats (310 euros will have to be given for them), on the contrary, they feel after several turns as if they had been spent all childhood at the cardodrome.
General drawback
The slightest turn of a smooth and informative steering wheel forces the Briton without unnecessary reasoning to change the direction. Even on steep turns, this steering wheel copes with the deceptive-high reactions of a front-wheel drive car subordinate to electronics. It is worthwhile to release the gas pedal for a short time, and a slight demolition of the stern will help you out and all this under the guidance of the vigilant and early ESP system. Thus, in terms of controllability on turns, an expensive mini chassis with a multi -link suspension of the rear axle is more useful than the light design of Mazda.

Comfort on the road
Mazda spring is softer and provides a comfortable ride. But passengers in the back seat of Mini will not be able to relax, they will only be able to throw their heads back and stretch their legs. But the interior of Mazda is not delighted. With the exception of the steering wheel and the gear lever, the entire interior is finished with ordinary plastic with partially sharp edges. For door moldings, it would also be very useful at least a small piece of matter, and looking at the liquid crystal indicator on the dashboard, you involuntarily imagine that you are in the store all for 1 euro. In addition, due to the wide rear rack of the body and the rising side line, it is somewhat more difficult to park on Mazda than on Mini, which has a good overview and narrow roof racks.
A unique atmosphere
The mini salon also cannot boast a complete absence of hard plastic. However, a number of ideas, such as chrome switches or a full -fledged large tachometer, create an individual, unique atmosphere. Many details open the path to the world of a higher class car for Mini: six gears instead of five, gas shock absorbers supporting the hood, instead of ordinary support, the ability to adjust the steering wheel not only in height, but also in length, as well as such options as xenon headlights , navigation system and various options for leather decoration of the salon. There is no such arsenal of details in the price list of Mazda.
But the basic set of Mazda includes climate control, aluminum rims, heating seats and a convenient leather steering wheel. These positions will increase the already high price of Mini by more than 3,000 euros. And since many buyers of the Mini serial model attracts no more than iPod without music, they will fork out on the pads, colored mirrors or designer stickers. Be that as it may, you can’t take the appropriate piquant names for markets with biting prices from marketers from marketers.
If you close your eyes at the immodest price of Mini, this car may even turn out to be a slightly more profitable acquisition than Mazda. Mini One received 438 points out of 650. The soulless prudent buyer Mini will seem completely stupid acquisition, but an expensive and cramped car with a sweet appearance causes delight with his obedient control. But the weak standard motor is not to the face of a car claiming the title of sports.
