It is time to open the cards that I hid in my sleeve for so long. For a year now, as I have been the owner of the bright red Mazda6, now the last generation, and I will say more: I love my car! He gives me a lot of positive emotions every time I sit down in a comfortable Mazdovsky chair and take in my hands a faint three -spoke steering wheel.
But nothing forever under the moon, and my favorite retired to become unattainable for those who still doubt her beauty, and a new Mazda6 came to the vacant place.
Even a fleeting look is enough to understand, she is different. If, having opened this test, you expect to get objective information about a new six, look for it in other materials. This test is too close to me. Each dash and every face of a new six touches the living. Can it really be better than my bright red beauty?
Buying six a year ago, I knew that a generational change was being prepared, but I deliberately chose an old car. She conquered me with her appearance and handling back in 2002, when she only appeared in Russia. Regarding the six -generation six, it was said that it would be built on the Ford Mondeo chassis, which means that an excellent two -leaf front suspension would go down in history. Fortunately, the Japanese did not allow sacrilege, and the new Mazda6 is based on the previous platform, but with an enlarged wheelbase. The total length increased by 65 mm, and more sweeping design and massive wheeled arches turned the six into a business sedan, which to compare with Toyota Camry.
We went to the non -member path and decided to contrast the new Mazda6 with its predecessor. Believe it or not, but your heart freezes: can your beloved girl be compared with some other, even very pretty and young? It turns out that in the automobile world you can. In a couple to my six with a 1.8 -liter engine and mechanics in the Turing configuration, we took a similar new generation Mazda6.
We will leave your appearance. The taste and color, as they say, are different feltsters. I like bright red: for its swiftness and sports. And let the old six were reproached with a parody of Alfa Romeo. Yes, so it, in fact, is Mazda an alpha for those who have not yet accumulated on Italian beauty or are afraid of a capricious appeninsky nature. The new six is \u200b\u200bcompletely different, she has matured and does not parody anyone. She has her own name, and she brings it proudly, keeping a large emblem-cowl in a deep neckline of the radiator grill.
Squintable eyes with four deflectors gave way to even more conceptual headlights with an abundance of diodes. The rear lights have an incredible form with the predecessor, but very distant. In front you can find proximity to Lexus GS, which once again confirms: Mazda has become more Japanese and original.
Opening the door to the salon, I also freeze in amazement. The new six is \u200b\u200bdifferent. The steering wheel is still three-spokes, but more intricate. The devices have become smaller and enclosed in personal wells in the end is more traditional. The branded arrows-laser swords from star wars have gone. In the pursuit of savings, the designers did not tolerate the handbrake on the right side of the central tunnel. As a result, if the hand lies on the armrest, then it closes the cup holders, and the setting of the car on the handle inevitably turns into close contact with the passenger's thigh. I hope there will always be a girl in this place ...
A more powerful audio system with the possibility of playing MP3 appeared on the central console, separate climate control and two-stage heating of the seats of these positions I regularly lack in the old six, and the fact that the Japanese eliminated small flaws great.
In the rear seats it became even more spacious in length, and in the width the place was enough before. The trunk seems to have become even more. It is not very correct to compare the sedan with the hatchback, but 504 liters of useful volume speak for themselves. It’s hard for me to imagine how much luggage should be to score such a trunk, but I know for sure 4 winter 17-inch wheels climb here without problems. The difference with the old six to open the trunk now you need not to be the key above the number, the very least protected from the dirt, and the button next to the central stop signal, which is almost always dirty. It will only save the fact that the key is duplicated on the key, although, raising the lid of the trunk of a new six, the driver is still doomed to get dirty.
But enough theory is time to go. The former Mazda6 seems to me an ideal of controllability for a front -wheel drive family car: a sensitive steering wheel, a slight tendency to skidding, which, in which case, is compensated by the stabilization system, and a very decent smoothness system.
The new six on the go was very similar. The efforts on pedals and the moves of the gearbox handle are exactly the same. But the power steering electric power, instead of the usual hydraulic. He allowed somewhat reducing fuel consumption and became more friendly to the driver. In the parking lot, the steering wheel is as easy as possible, and it is poured with reactive effort by rising speed. But even at these moments it is easier than on the previous car. But this does not bother at all thanks to 17-inch wheels, while on my six in the same configuration there are 15-inch.
In turns, both cars behave very much likely, the difference in the nuances that are explained by different wheels, and a new steering wheel amplifier. To lay turns on Mazda6 is still a pleasure. The front wheels slipped a little from the trajectory lifted the leg from the gas, and the car obediently screws into the turn.
But the smoothness of the move was somewhat injured. In small waves and joints, everything is still, but it is worth not to notice the lying policeman, as fair tremors are transmitted to the body, these are not probes of suspension, but rather a reaction to larger discs.
So better or worse? - the not -patient reader will ask. Having weighed all the pros and cons, I admit: the new Mazda6 is better. Not much, in the little things, but she became even more friendly to the driver. A more thoughtful interior, an even more spacious interior. Perhaps even the suspension became better. As for the appearance, then ... what is there to argue, all the old six dealers have long sold out, so you don’t have to choose. Just Mazda switched to a new round of evolution. This is not the jump over the head that the Japanese made in 2002, this is a clearly thought out and balanced step up, along the ladder of automobile evolution. At the same time, Mazda retained the aura at the same time accessibility and belonging to class cars above. Well, who else will offer a beautiful modern car that claims a business class for 699,000 rubles (about $ 28,000)?
As for me, I do not rush to change my beauty. I like her, and that's it. We’ll wait with her for two more years, it will be seen there how life will turn. Maybe I will grow up to transfer to a new six. If I move to live out of town, I will definitely get SC-7. And if the head breaks out completely, then hold me seven buy a crazy Mazda3 mps!
