Test drive Mazda Mazda 6 (Atenza) Sedan since 2007 sedan

A pleasant deception of expectations

Contrary to expectations, the new Mazda6 did not turn out to be Japanese Ford Mondeo. We did not conduct comparative tests: the information of the manufacturer and our own sensations was quite enough. The Japanese were fenced off by their sedan from an American associate and, it seems, did not lose

Did Mazda6 look better? Of course! At least outside. Designers from the Land of the Rising Sun are sure that it finally became Japanese spectacular and spectacular, embodying oriental philosophy and culture in each of its elements.

On the side of the car is added by swiftness to the low -down line of the profile. A powerful front end reminiscent of a youth fish, and used to look at the RX-8 and CX-7 muzzles, which is not surprising, since these are projects of one designer.

The wide roundness of the arches and the details of optical devices attach their eyes, and the process of photography is increasingly interrupting the enthusiastic replicas of passers -by. The previous Mazda sedan was just a car, without shocking and designer frills. There is no aesthetic step of the six, this is a jump forward.

The interior has much improved in terms of functionality and a little stylistics. A gray-black steering wheel with the control buttons of a part familiar to other Japanese. It is convenient to hold it in his hands, but the orange backlight of the buttons makes them unreadable with a wide angle of light drop.

Stylish and fairly informative devices are also highlighted by orange bulbs of this color in the form of orders of Mazda factories. And to a narrow strip of on -board computer, unless you had Mazda before, it’s not easy to get used to it.

It is inconvenient to use it: especially if the package control system does not include the CF-Net on the MAZDA. Several keys on the steering wheel allow you to control all service electronics, but such a device is not included in the Touring kit.

As for the quality of decoration materials and their fitting, there are no complaints. The seats are still tough, but comfortable. The fabric of upholstery and lateral underpers have changed; They seem to be slightly unclenched under more significant drivers. Is the East also experiencing excess weight problems? ..

Mazda6 has become tougher. And the point is not only in the front chairs, which, in softness, would rather suit the C-class. The point in the shock absorbers, which find and voiced bumps even at the seemingly smooth joints of asphalt. It was better not to get into the larger pits at speed: it was not so difficult to squeeze the shock absorber to a critical level.

Another thing is that there are plenty of machines with a comfortable orientation in class D, and it seems so obedient and fast as Mazda.

The steering wheel with a new electric power, according to the sensations, has become much more informative and sharper: as it turns, it is more distinctly traced the desire to take its original position, and the slip and the front wheel strike on the obstacle is felt exactly so much as to inform, but not create discomfort.

The sedan enters the bends confidently, but with predictable rolls. The DSC stabilization system (disconnected) can be trusted and not afraid to sort it out slightly at speed: excess torque will instantly withdraw from the contact of the wheel, and the six is \u200b\u200bslower, but more reliable will follow the given trajectory. However, with 17-inch studded asphalt tires, not the best coating for dynamic drive. The sliding of the rear axle (and hence the DSC intervention) begins much earlier than it could.

Brakes are unlikely to require the mechanisms of the previous six to a change (at least on this two -liter version).

Electronic systems perfectly distribute brake efforts and fill the pedal with complete information about the current state of slowdown. Small difficulties with braking on the asphalt can be attributed to rubber.

A two -liter motor with a machine gun Golden between the comfort of imperceptible switching, smoothness, a margin of thrust and timely (and correct) selection of gears.

The degree of adaptability of the transmission will be appreciated by everything: both prone to calm and torn ride. Depending on the intensity of working with the gas pedal, the machine will decide when and how many gears you need to switch.

The list of features of Mazda6 features complements noise insulation. Despite the fact that on it the Japanese managed to hide several extra pounds of mass, silence in the cabin is disturbed only by the rustle of winter tires.

However, the automatic amplification of the volume of the radio (with an increase in speed) would not interfere with the annular sound level had to be adjusted manually. But so far for the D-class this is not the very first necessity.

These are about the impressions of us after the first trial trip to the new generation Mazda6 with a two-liter 147-horsepower engine and an automatic gearbox.

By the next number we will get acquainted with the rest of the 1.8- and 2.5-liter versions at the official Russian premiere of cars in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. If you want to know about Mazda6, read the next wheel number more!
