At some point, I realized that any road is more pleasant and calm to conquer in my own, dear and familiar car. This prompted me to the idea of \u200b\u200bbuying a full -fledged, seven -seater, sports, useful and universal SUV vehicle.

I must say, the set of seven -seater cars on the market is small. Mini-wenes are immediately subtracted from it due to a low-power engine and low clearance, they are followed by full-fledged SUVs, I am not ready to overpay half a million rubles for a set of gearboxes, distributions and pendants, which I will use a couple of times a season, and the level of maneuverability acceptable to me And they cannot be achieved on the road by definition. There remains a pair of relatively inexpensive crossovers of an impressive size of the Mazda CX-9 and Hyundai IX55.

The CX-9 salon is as friendly as appearance. The driver and front passenger are in the interior thought out to the smallest detail, in which the designer’s inspired hand is felt. The stylism of the front panel, doors and the central tunnel creates a feeling of completeness and comfort. A rather low landing of the driver seems to protect him from the outside world, but at the same time it has a significant drawback: the dimensions of the CX-9 seem endless, and even the experienced driver Mazda delivers a lot of trouble during parking. The main thing is not to turn around, because there are two more and a half meters of a full-fledged living space, to which the driver has nothing to do with a high central tunnel, narrow windows and wide seats. At Mazda, a different life is happening behind: all the same comfortable, but more companion. There are five adults without hesitation, but they will have to put all the luggage into their feet or on the roof, since the trunk volume with the seats laid out is not enough even for a picnic set.

On the go, Mazda again confirms the desire to become Drivers Car. Forget about mother -in -law and children, put into turns, brake sharply and try to accelerate the faster than anyone else. Because otherwise the meaning of a clear informative steering wheel, too sensitive the brake pedal and suspension, which transfers all joints and cracks, and tells about large bumps even slightly obsessively. The CX-9 can go clearly faster than the passengers sitting in the second and third rows need it. All the agility of Mazda disappears on a broken country road, where suddenly from under the feet

Almost everyone who is ready to afford the car for one and a half million rubles, when pronouncing the name of this brand, will stretch: oh, no. For me, Ai-X turned out to be a car. As if he reproaches all the prejudices, he screams: but I have excellent sound insulation, but I am well assembled, but I will disperse with dignity and slow down, but I am comfortable, I am big and roomy! Hyundai made a logical seven -mile jump forward to European quality. For all the time of the test, I did not find anything that would cause hostility or distrust. Koreans finally made a clean product that can cause sympathy, find a consumer and lead fans.

Outwardly, the IX55 does not try to hide the roots and bears the burden of the general style of all -terrain vehicles of the brand. Complex, in some places not finished lines still do not spoil a completely successful common silhouette of the body. Due to the fact that Hyundai is shorter than Mazda by 20 centimeters, it is distinguished by a certain composure, sports and lack of long overhangs.

The interior was bored, but functional. Everything you need is at hand, you can’t complain about the quality of the materials, but, frankly, in the photographs it looks more interesting than the eyes of the driver. Planting seems to be higher than in the CC-9, and this sometimes makes you think that you are sitting at the wheel of a full-fledged SUV. The driver is not isolated from the rest of the space and can easily communicate with all crew members. Spaces in the IX55 no less than in Mazda, and to make it to the seats of the third row even noticeably easier. True, in both cars, I would demand from all passengers the gallery to get off with high, and I would give high helmets: in motion along the uneven road, sitting behind the rear wheels, it is easy to feel the roof or rear window with my head.

Hyundai does not at all provoke the driver to active actions. He knows how to roll exactly so much that the leg itself releases the gas, in response to the bumps in the corners pushes the driver with the steering wheel, and on large longitudinal waves sometimes gives the rear passengers a sense of zero gravity. A person who at least once traveling in a jeep will seem quite predictable and controlled, you just need to relax.

My choice
In my opinion, these cars can be considered classmates only by formal signs. Hyundai I would call a solid SUV with an undeniably pronounced quality of assembly and design, as well as with off -road potential. Mazda is a family station wagon nourished outside the fuel deficit, which is the honor to be the flagship of a popular brand. He is opened by the entrance to the fishing shore and to suburban clubs. I will give my preference to CX-9, including because the Mazda has one prestige above all the advantages before the IX55.

Editor's Choice
Other things being equal, we still give the palm IX55. Yes, the image of this brand is not as solid as Mazda, however, the level of quality, equipment and dynamic characteristics of IX55 are at a fairly high level. And the price with such a rich set of options is quite reasonable, if not underestimated. As for the Mazda SC-9, it is also a very worthy car.
That's just an overpayment of 5000 euros for the image is somewhat confused.
