The irony of the Russian fate: the name Liberty (freedom), the American SUV had to be taken not by the will of the creators. Both in their native America and Europe, the car is known as Jeep Patriot.
But in Russia there is already one patriot such a name booked for its all -terrain vehicle the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Therefore, Jeep had to invent something else for its novelty. So they came to freedom
Looking ahead: we could not understand what the differences between Liberty and many relatives are.

Liberty has no problems with cross -country ability. The main thing is not to forget to pull the T-shaped lever on the central tunnel, turning on the blocking of all-wheel drive. Even where the relief of frozen sand resembles a cardiogram of a person with a rapid heartbeat, Liberty will climb almost without loss.
Almost, if you do not count the front bumper, which deprived the jeep of a solid indicator of the entrance angle, if you protect it from scratches, the route will have to be chosen much more thorough.
On the asphalt, Jeep is quite adequate: stability, overclocking and brake speakers, if even in some ways, are only because of winter studded tires. You can’t call him a sprinter, but we did not wait for anything special.
And the Liberty itself is well controlled and briskly follows the instructions of the steering wheel, despite the high center of gravity, entailing small rolls.
In the world of streamlined crossovers, Jeep Compass is struggling to look like his boyfriend. But you can’t run away from the past, called Jeep - follow the traditions. It so happened that the elements of European and American design schools are strangely adjacent to the appearance of Compass. Jeep Liberty, a technically almost identical Compass model, on the contrary, corresponds to traditional ideas what the American jeep should look like. The car slightly moved away from the smooth forms of Compass, recalling, rather, the older brother, the Commander fact that fans of the brand will appreciate without a doubt.
But by and large, only a very armed eye can distinguish two Compass and Liberty cars. And he is unlikely to find satisfactory explanations of what the manufacturer represents in the distant and (so far?) Alien Russia such similar models.

This part of the story had to be rewritten in a fire department. Since from November 21, Chrysler Group cars in Russia began to nominate in dollars. This led to a decrease in prices for the entire model range of Jeep and, in particular, on Liberty.
How will these changes affect sales? Worse, in any case, it will not be. It seemed absurd to most buyers that ruble prices for American cars have to be recognized through the euro. Now this defect is eliminated. It remains to understand whether there was a relatively high price for the Dzhipovsky SUV, the main reason for a little interest in it. Or is it not only about price?
