Infiniti cars broke into the Russian market 3 years ago with the advent of the FX family. A sports silhouette, combined with a solid clearance and giant 20-inch wheels, attracted a lot of customers of ready to lay out from 80 thousand dollars.
However, then Infiniti cars were officially sold only in the United States and Canada, and gray dealers had to satisfy solvent demand, which are not required to provide vehicles with warranty service and set prices at their own discretion. Seeing the successes that the luxury brand gives in developing countries, and looking at the excellent sales of his main competitor Lexus, the head of the Renaultnissan alliance Carlos Gon, gave the room an Infiniti to the world brand, expanding the geography of its presence outside the American continent.
Giving tribute to the potential of the Russian market, the Infiniti brand was presented in our country earlier than in Western Europe, and buyers were offered M-series sedans, as well as FX SUVs. If with FX he has been selling more or less clearly for a long time and managed to become familiar with the roads, then the M35 is a beginner who will have to enter a full-time fight with the German Audi A6, BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-class, as well as Lexus GS. Let's try to figure out if Infiniti has a chance in competition? For a test drive, we took an all-wheel drive M35 in the Elite configuration.
An aggressive front is perhaps a serious trump card in Emka's hands. In a powerful radiator grill, you can even find a resemblance to the prestigious FX, but only in the sleeve the sedan is not displayed. The profile looks too commonplace, and the feed is completely boring. Nissan Teana customers will probably be pleased to think that they are double cheaper sedan in the profile similar to Infiniti, however, for our hero this is more likely a drawback.
Massive doors are closed with a solid, pleasant slap, enclosing me from the bustle of the capital, but it is just not clear why the salon meets the caustic smell of new plastic? A similar aroma, due to the price of the machine, was in the new Hyundai Getz, but how to justify it in Infiniti is not clear.
 
Opening the window, and slightly ventilating the car, you can look around. The first thing you pay attention to is massive wooden inserts decorating the console and the front panel. And for a second there is no doubt that this is really a tree, and not a cheap plastic imitation. Beige seats, the yellow backlight of the instrument panels, elegant arrow watches and a chubby steering wheel, the diameter of which are somewhat large by modern standards are complemented by the picture of luxury. Comfortable front chairs have a huge range of adjustments in all directions, equipped with an electric drive and a steering column.
Only some small details are disappointed in the cabin, which are borrowed from the unification of unification in the younger Nissan models, and some options (such as mirror folding) are not even on cheap models at all. By the way, the Renaultnissan alliance is now the most profitable automaker in the world and probably at the expense of such tricks and a high operating margin is achieved. But still, if you do not find fault with the little things, then the Infiniti finish is made on a grand scale of the characteristic American machines, and at the same time the quality inherent in the Japanese is felt in it. This combination, of course, does not reach the sophisticated German perfectionism, but it promises to be reliable and convenient.
The services of the rear passengers provide for electric heaters, the own block of climate-cabinet and the management of the audio system. All these keys are collected in the central folding armrest, which clearly hints at the 4th place of the car, and the massive toneel on the floor does not contribute to the comfort of the average passenger. The two will be very free here, especially if you shift the front passenger chair to the stop.
The 3.5-liter engine is known for so many models of the Japanese concern from the Nissan 350Z sportkup to the Infiniti FX35 SUV. And each time this engine is impressive with its thrust and light promotion to high speeds. Of course, it is difficult to turn an all -wheel drive sedan with a mass of two tons into a sports projectile, but it is also a sin to blame the M35 of a lack of dynamics. On the Infiniti suburban highway, it easily maintains a speed of 160-180 km/h, and is accelerated without voltage to 200 km. After that, already with a visible and audible voltage, the engine catch up with the speedometer arrow to 220 km/h. It is difficult to say the true speed, however, according to the passport data, the maximum speed of the all -wheel drive M35 is 206 km/h.
The machine is very configured by sports - it has close -up gears, which at speeds for 150 km/h leads to a very obsessive gul of the motor in the cabin, but in manual mode the box honestly holds the given transmission and does not switch up, even when it reaches the maximum revolutions.
It seems that when finishing the running qualities of the sedan, the engineers did not fully decide what they want to focus on, on sports or comfort. As a result, the M35 turned out to be moderately comfortable and moderately controlled, without obvious failures, but also lacking stars from the sky. The car definitely runs through all the driver’s teams, but at the same time does not seek to give him pleasure. In a steep turn in Infiniti, to the last clings to the turn, and the sedan smoothly grows out the front wheels behind the line of the adhesion properties of the tires. Not dormant electronics suppresses the attempts of an active drive bacterly in the bud, but if you find the treasured key of the collar of the collar under the wheel, then you can step a little bit and delight your vestibular apparatus with lateral accelerations and sizes.
Those who are alien to the active drive can look at the controllability of Infiniti on the other hand. The shedding steering almost completely eliminates the transfer of vibrations from a poor-quality road to the steering wheel, and a fairly high clearance of the sedan in combination with all-wheel drive makes it an ideal car for long-range businesses.
In Infiniti, you can find both the inclinations of a sports coupe and a representative sedan. But neither one nor the other is brought, not to the absolute, but at least to a brightly exposed intent. As if the developers have not yet decided on the target audience. Such a car is absolutely not interesting to me, for the same price you can choose the Lexus RX350 SUV or less powerful, but the more integral Audi A6 sedan has not only an interesting shape, but also attractive content.
In my opinion, the M35 will be better used with a hired driver. Aggressive appearance and a convenient rear sofa (where else you will find an all -wheel drive sedan with the rear seats for 70 thousand dollars) will come in handy for clothes, but they will no longer be a car, but its owner. Infiniti M35 Premium retail prices begin at 64,900 dollars. This is the price for a rear-wheel drive car with an automatic machine, a cruise control, an 8-channel Bose audio system with a CD -chenger, leather seats with electro-regulations, memory, fitter and ventilation, rear view camera, climate control, hatch, xenon headlights and chip keys. The surcharge for all -wheel drive is $ 3,000. The options from the Elite package are addressed to the rear passengers and raise the price of the car for $ 1,200. For this money, heating and an electric rear seats, as well as a climate control and a control panel for sitting from behind, are proposed. If a 3.5-liter engine is not enough, then you can choose a version of the M45 with an engine with a capacity of 339 hp. (price from 78 900), but you will have to forget about all -wheel drive. Those who are not yet ready to melt the steering wheel and are looking for a powerful and sports sedan of business class, is addressed to the top version of Sport (79,900 dollars), it is equipped with 19-inch wheels, sports suspension, armchairs with developed lateral support and electronic system Rear Active Steer, which controls the rear wheels and improves the controllability of the machine.
