Again summer, again a convertible ... it would seem that it could be better! But who knew that the weather this season would put such a pig and almost the entire test would pass, so to speak, behind closed doors?
Right, in such a situation, your correspondent more than once with warmth recalled the quick soft top of the Audi A3. But there are almost no such cars on the market. The roofs of convertibles are now metal, and the process of transition from one state to another resembles transformer transformer.

The new opening G37 for the domestic market is just one of those who, in the process of transformation, are more and more resemble not a car, but a combat robot. No, the Japanese did not provide for any special effects or computer graphics a la GROS Factory, but unlike most brothers in the manipulation workshop, the Infiniti roof is not quite standard. Usually, everything is simple to disgrace: a second design, a whole design breaks in two places, turns into a three -layer sandwich within a dozen seconds, which, in turn, fits exactly under the laid trunk lid. Curtain, ovation. Infiniti seems to be the same, but the process is slightly decorated with several original strokes like deploying a pair of plastic ears. As a result, the design seems to freeze approximately in the middle. The driver, as a rule, is ready for this unexpected turn of events, and involuntary spectators do not turn their heads almost, some even smile. Malfly, but not for long. Having established additional ammunition, the machine regularly completes the process.

However, the G37 spends almost a quarter of a minute on the roof. This is a long time, especially since its main competitors Lexus IS250 and BMW of the 3rd series are controlled in 20 and 22 seconds, respectively. At first glance, the difference is small, but three extra seconds in the pouring rain, believe me, they will seem to be eternity.

By the way, a comparison with a robot disguised as a car evokes not only the transformation process, but also ... its result. Having received at that very immature age a rather rare, but already quite popular toy at that time, at the command of the owner, transforming from a car into a certain combat mechanism, the author of these lines seriously wondered: how should the internal space of such a vehicle be organized to be organized in it to be organized in it At least the driver was placed? It is clear that the multipliers, as well as toy manufacturers, at that time took care of this little. Here for modern convertibles, this issue is much sharper. Not a fact, however, that the result will be positive.

The fact that the equipment and cargo transportation of the concepts of incompatible a priori is undeniable. However, in Infiniti there is not even a hint of a cargo compartment. If you folded the roof, then any, even a very oversized luggage, you will have to turn into manually. The Japanese, of course, indicated abstract 70 liters in the technical characteristics, but this was done more for the sake of decency in the resulting gap for a 1.5-liter bottle of mineral water. There is no other thing, otherwise the car elementarily slows down the driver's request to take a sunbathing and inhale the portion of a fresh peat exhaust.

Nevertheless, this convertible is not devoid of advantages. Firstly, price: 2.5 million rubles for a car with a 333-horsepower V6 is at least inexpensive. Much more weak in the level of weapons Lexus costs almost the same ... secondly, functionality. In the compartment it is secondary, and even more so in the convertible, but it is still worth recognizing that as a car for every day the G37 Cabrio is even more convenient than the two -door of the same name. With a height of two meters, the author of these lines did not fit into it trite, propping the ceiling with the crown. The problem was then solved radically increased the angle of inclination of the back. What did the passenger who accommodated from behind feel, it is better not to ask. In the convertible, which is characteristic, the supply of space above the head is more. It is unlikely that this will seriously affect the comfort of the rear riders, but for the owner of the open compartment this is far from the most relevant topic ...

And even more so not for the owner of the G37, which, in fact, is the owner of the left -handed Nissan Skyline embodiment. We will not again paint all the charms of its almost medium-sized chassis, the dynamic qualities of a 3.7-liter unit or the speed of a 7-speed box. It has 333 horses, 363 Nm traction, almost perfect weight, rear -wheel drive and sports brakes, so that this car goes, believe me, very cool. And this despite almost two extra centners of iron, which has gone to increase hardness. Another thing is that pleasure has not become cheap, but, as representatives of one of the Japanese brands rightly noted, lovers of riding in Russia always pay.
