Previously, Skyline was the legend of JDM scenes, they had rare American and European enthusiasts outside Japan, as well as many motorists from Russia (where the right steering wheel is allowed to operate) and Australia/New Zealand (where all the right steering cars). Exotic, especially the GT-R version! And the novelty? The car is peculiar: a sort of cross of sports breed and urban gloss, which looks equally good in the mountains of Japan, and under the California sun, and at the Moscow review. True, the last point was never the habitat of these cars, in any case, until the current generation model was debuted (the sedan appeared in 2006, the compartment a little later, in 2007), which became incredibly among lovers of expensive and fast sedans. Popular. Well, the fact that the car has lost its thoroughbredness, nonsense: as the Nissan GT-R debut showed in 2008, Skyline, as an independent unit, broke up elementarily, giving life to a beautiful fast-fast premium class and a real supercar, ready to argue with the best representatives of his segment. We will talk about the GT-R Superfire another time, and in this issue we will try to figure out in detail what the current generation is still for the Infiniti G beast, since the car has passed since the start of the release of the car and there are statistics of breakdowns.

Sophisticated motorists know that in the recent past the model survived a small modernization: the car was beautiful before it, so there was no need for a radical change in appearance. You can distinguish a new modification from the old one by an almost elusive feeling of freshness present in the appearance of the restyled version. It seems that G has the usual appearance, simply dynamic and slender, but if you look closely, you will find a lot of exciting features, such as muscular front wings, not in contact with the headlights and grate of the radiator hood. It feels like the Japanese tried to try on the features of the FX crossover on a four -door sedan. And in general they succeeded! It is gratifying that there are no problems with the body. But the electrician sometimes presents random surprises, although relatively rarely.

The interior is very elegant, looks five with a plus, and in use it is convenient. The equipment worthy of any copy is pleasing. The driver's seat and steering are pleasant, in addition, almost every person will be able to perfectly set them up for themselves. In terms of open space, the salon is medium, and the trunk is small. Some owners (as well as pretentious potential buyers) find fault with plastic: spoiled motorists believe that the front panel is made of low -quality material, unpleasant to the touch. But the standard audio system is worthy of any praise: the Japanese tried to make its sound pleasant, and in addition to fill out as large as possible additional functions (at least a standard USB connector).

Driving qualities are the strength of the car. Until recently, all the models were called the G35X and had a truly powerful engine under the hood (its sound is unpleasant, low -frequency, tedious, monotonous, but the unit performs its functions: the machine shoots powerfully, and it goes no worse than charged Subaru). Considering that under the hood of used G, it is mainly a 3.5-liter engine that surrounds (those who in the topic) will think three times whether to provoke such a car to the race. Full -wheel drive is a serious advantage (the leading wheels have rear wheels, but for the 4WD sedan standard equipment, four -door versions with rear -wheel drive were officially not sold with us, although they exist). The controllability of the model is on top, trips turn around with continuous pleasure! True, sled comfort is imperfect, and the brakes are weak (replacing the standard mechanisms with more powerful common procedure).

Only three engines are provided for G (all V6). The weakest 2.5-liter unit with a capacity of 222 liters. p., which appeared under the hood of this model only last year. The most common motor 3.5-liter, developing 306 liters. p., and a 3.7-liter V6 (333 p.) Previously, only the compartment was equipped, but after modernization it became available to sedans. There are no special difficulties in the operation of these power units, except that the sedans (for whom the standard equipment is full -wheel drive) are too large fuel consumption, even on the highway. Dot in the electrician occurs, but rarely and unsystematic.

No specific features of service can be noted: change your oil and filters every 10 thousand km and there will be happiness. It turns out that the most significant problem associated with the engine is a transport tax, since the vast majority of used cars in the TCP include at least 300 liters. With. (From a certain pore in Russia, horses began to honestly register, not what before), but the G25 in the secondary market is still a little (and they are expensive).

The gearboxes are different: for some cars, in particular, American sedans and compartment for all markets, installed mechanics with six speeds, early copies were equipped with five -speed automatic transmission, and later began to use machine guns with seven ranges. Surprises nor other elements of the transmission do not present. Unless the automatic transmission with seven steps is an application for victory when calculating specialized repair workshops (the latter admit that modern multi -stage units especially in German machines have many problems during operation). However, epic refusals will not begin to pour right now, since they put these boxes relatively recently.

There are no more comments on the suspension than to the same details of any other machine: the main elements do not demonstrate the miracles of durability, but you can’t call them weak, that is, more and more normal. But the brakes are a weak place: they themselves are not very effective, and there are certain claims to reliability (frequent intensive braking leads to discs, and not only in this model, but also in other Infiniti). In principle, this is logical: to reduce the unsubstantiated masses, manufacturers go to different compromises, including reducing the mass of heavy brake discs, and as a result, reliability is reduced. The owners of G, however, are not easier to look for, and they are forced to look for expensive solutions, including the sets of Endless, Wilwood, AkeBono and others (sometimes for a cosmic price comparable with the cost of a good used machine).

Nevertheless, the latest generation Infiniti G is a very reliable car and an excellent acquisition in many respects: it is fast, beautiful, it has good running qualities, a nice and decently equipped salon, and a full -wheel drive that most models are equipped, a huge plus. In general, this is a high -class car without special flaws at a very attractive price. True, choosing Infiniti G is still carefully: a murdered car can be with any nameplate on the radiator grille, and Infiniti is no exception (do not forget about the high energy supply of this model).
