Outwardly, the small Infiniti looks very original, and it is impossible to confuse with any of the competitors.
We took the Infiniti G35 all-wheel drive sedan on the test drive in the Sport configuration and tried to find out: is there any sport in it and, if there is, then what kind: chess or heavy athletics.
IT's Handling Like A Sportscar (handling, like a sports car) likes to repeat almost all automakers in their advertisements. Even the Renault Megane sedan with a 1.4-liter engine is presented as the closest relative of the Formula-1 Bolid-1 BOOLD. There is only one reasons for such positioning, and her great -grandfather Sigmund Freud explained it. Sports, even if the automobile, providing for sitting in one place is associated with an active, and therefore healthy lifestyle. And girls love healthy and strong.
The likelihood that the promised sports handling will be true, about 50/50. Or yes, or not. And today, it seems that we were lucky in the hands of a chip key from the latest Sports Sedan Infiniti G35, and even performed by Sport. 315 honest atmospheric horses removed from a 3.5-liter V-shaped six, flavored with all-wheel drive, not only promise in a compact and stylish body, but also give a real drive.
The first years of its existence, the Infiniti brand remained a thing in itself. The luxury versions of ordinary Nissans did not particularly attract even Americans, and cars were not supplied to the European market at all. The real revolution was produced by an all-round fx a stylish car on huge 20-inch wheels with powerful engines and all-wheel drive, like that of the legendary Nissan Skyline. Both new and used Infiniti poured into Russia, and after all -districts woke up interest in other models. A year ago, Infiniti officially debuted in the Russian market. First, only large sedans and SUVs were sold, but the G35 athletan, focused on active drivers, was recently presented.

The muscular hood with tide on the sides looks very impressive, besides it helps to better feel the dimensions of the car. Add charm and space headlights, with incredible reflectors inside. Circular feed with a chrome spoiler causes associations with jaguars, and the trunk of the G35 is very modest in the best traditions of English sedans. But under the floor, a full -size spare wheel is hidden.
The interior is designed in a calm, slightly technocratic style, like other Infiniti models. Around the driver is soft plastic, tree inserts and real aluminum, decorated under Japanese rice paper. ' And the steering wheel switches, perhaps, can be called ideal, they do not freeze fingers thanks to rubber overlays, but at the same time radiate the nobility of winged metal. The panel of devices with contrast backing is perfectly read at any time, but its shape is too simple and primitive for the athlete, if not a huge tachometer or scarlet backlight, then at least some emotions.
The equipment of our car was somewhat puzzled: the only difference between Sport and the top version of Premium is to decorate the salon with a polysard tree instead of aluminum. By the way, the difference in the price between the assembly is 18,000 rubles. It is a matter of taste to pay them or not: for me so natural aluminum, and even trimmed under Japanese rice paper, is fresh and very stylish, and the tree in the business class machines was bored with the order. Surprisingly, the Infiniti G35 was deprived of an electric drive of the folding of mirrors, which is even on Nissan Micra, and for some reason the windowsman's closer argument was only on the driver's window. Is it possible to save something on this? And what kind of dividends will this in the future, when the owner of a fairly expensive car every day will annoy such trifles?
But enough to grumble, it's time for Sport to imply on the road. Hands themselves lie on the steering wheel, like Ferrari Enzo !! The gaze unmistakably recognizes her from a thousand rudders. A characteristic triangle of a hub for a bubbling gloss could be decorated with chromium at least a little, otherwise it is too black.
Settling more comfortably and putting the steering wheel in a convenient position, you catch yourself thinking that in any position the steering wheel does not block the devices. And only then understanding comes: the instrument panel moves with the steering column a magnificent solution! The chairs gently and reliably hug the body, and the right hand pulls on itself a stylish machine gun selector
At first, the start seems a little strained, because the motor has to promote a full -wheel drive transmission and accelerate a mass of 1802 kg from a place. And this is a lot: for comparison, close in the BMW 335xi class 150 kg is easier. But as soon as the tachometer arrow is transferred to the right side of the scale, as a lot can be forgotten by 315 horses and 358 Nm can do their job perfectly and throw the sedan forward confidently and powerfully. For some reason, Infiniti does not report anything about the maximum speed of the G35, and it was not possible to check, but the ease of the speedometer arrow reaches 200 km/h, allows us to believe that up to 250 km/h the sedan will accelerate for sure.
In order to fully enjoy the controllability of the G35, it is best to go on the ice or on a racing track in the city of Sedan is difficult to reveal all your potential. But a calm riding through the streets causes a lot of pleasure on the steering wheel is verified perfectly: despite the greater mass, the sedan actively dawns in turns and willingly succumbs to provocations. The discharge of gas and rocking with a steering wheel and Infiniti smoothly and slowly goes into a skid, which is immediately suppressed by a stabilization system. However, the disconnection of electronics on the G35 does not control the sedan less safe, but even more exciting. It is completely impossible to tear the wheels into a slip on dry asphalt, and the point is not a lack of power. Even in the turn, the transmission works so harmoniously and so accurately redistributes the torque from the engine to all four wheels that the drift can not be afraid. And if it suddenly happens, then it develops very smoothly and it is easier to adjust it.
Full -wheel drive and accurate steering will probably allow you to write incredible tricks on the ice and all this with a magnificent decoration of the cabin, a convenient machine and the high status of the machine, which does not dream of lighters like Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.
At the end of the test, we accidentally met with my old acquaintance. He fled at the Lexus IS250 and was tormented by questions what it is better for him to choose a complete set and body color. Instead of a long dispute behind a glass of tea, I suggested that he ride Infiniti. G35 in the basic configuration of Sport is a little more expensive than well equipped, but 204-horsepower and rear-wheel drive Lexus. And if more specifically, then 1,490,780 rubles per G35 versus 1 401 500 for Lexus. With all due respect to the Japanese-American division of Toyota, a hundred additional horses under the hood and all-wheel drive predetermined the withdrawal of my friend. In addition, one of the main claims to Lexus was the absence of a color screen and video cameras in it, which are offered on Infiniti already in the database. By the way, for comparison, the base 306-horsepower BMW 335 XI sedan with all-wheel drive and automatically costs more than 1,800,000 rubles.
Such an affordable Sport is obtained.
