Typically, cars of this type are called an intermediate class. However, he was fully formed. One of its brightest representatives is Infiniti FX.Perhaps this is snobbery. But I really want Nissan to start supplying to Europe or to Russia at least some of its models sold in America under the Infiniti brand. Probably, we are really close to the Americans in tastes. It is no coincidence that their fans consider a bright style the main advantage of American cars. And when this style is also embodied with Japanese quality ... It is not surprising that Infiniti FX has become one of the most popular models imported by unofficial dealers
Beautiful and smart. Of course, the point here is not only in style. In itself, a combination in one car of all -wheel drive, stylish appearance and high dynamic characteristics to the heart of the Russian buyer. Such a cross is more often found and more often - it seems that this intermediate class has already won its place on the market. The fundamental difference from classic SUVs is in a design that is clearly focused on riding on quality coatings. For example, Infiniti FX is designed on the FM platform, which Nissan also uses for the Sedan and the Infiniti G35 and Nissan Skyline sedan. The platform is with a classic layout: a longitudinally located engine and drive to the rear axle. The expensive version of the FX45 is equipped only with a full -wheel drive transmission, a slightly more modest FX35 has a version with a 4x2 wheel formula, which, of course, does not import into Russia.
In the 4x4 version, the distribution of torque is the electronic system attesa e-ts-Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Electronic Torque Split, something like an advanced full-wheel drive system with a fully electronic distribution of the moment. Under normal conditions, the entire moment is transmitted to the rear axle, and when the drive wheels are slipped using an electromagnetic coupl, the front ones are connected, so that the ratio of torque along the axes can be brought to a ratio of 50:50. If desired, the all -wheel drive can be turned on and forcibly - the button on the instrument panel, but this mode operates at speeds up to 30 km/h. The gearbox is an ordinary hydromechanical machine, but five -speed and with the possibility of choosing a manually.
Attesa E-TS works in cooperation with the system of dynamic control of stability VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), which, if necessary, can strangle the motor and brake any of the wheels. There is also a system of emergency braking, not to mention any banalities like ABS and electronic distribution of brake force. There is also an automatic blocking of differentials (using the wheel brakes), which turns off at speeds of more than 80 km/h.
The heir to traditions. The classic platform is not the only FX feature that can be called tribute to traditions. The shape of the body is so clearly built on the ideas worked out for decades, which resembles a revived illustration from a fantastic novel fifty years ago. Only significantly improved: unlike illustrators, designers create real machines and are forced to take into account a lot of life factors - this makes them work more carefully. A long hood, rounded powerful sidewalls, large wheels - these traditional signs of power in exactly selected proportions create an image of a comfortable, fast and solid car. Anyone who says that the current cars are faceless wash, just never saw Infinity FX.
The avant -garde design, based on traditional proportions, did not stop creating a salon with a sufficient level of comfort. Not without futuristic notes: the instrument panel is made in the form of a separate block, which is adjustable along the angle of inclination along with the steering column. And the general style of the interior as a whole is quite consistent with appearance. High -quality finishing materials both in appearance and to the touch recall that Infiniti is the luxury unit of the Nissan concern, which, however, ate the dog in the decoration. What are at least aluminum (real metal!) Panels on the consoles and pedals from the same material (they are placed on FX45 or, as an option, on FX35).
Of course, electric drives of seats, mirrors and side windows are included in the basic configuration, like climate control and Bose audio system with six-disc chainer, cassette player and 13 speakers.
Vanguard under the hood. The youngest model in the family is equipped with a V-shaped six-l volume of 3.5 liters, which is placed on many Nissan and Infiniti models: an aluminum unit, four valves per cylinder, molybdenum pistons and a smooth change in gas distribution phase change. In general, a normal and high -tech motor usual for Nissan. FX45, in accordance with the index, has a 4.5 liter engine - this eight with titanium valves can also be found on many other models of both brands. Both engines are slightly different in characteristics from their counterparts installed on cars: on thirty-fifth it is 20th more powerful (280 versus 260), and on the 45th, on the contrary, it gives out 25 forces less (315 versus 340 on Q45). Which does not prevent the latter from accelerating to a hundred even a little faster than Porsche Cayenne. Perhaps, an aerodynamics that excellent for machines helps here: CX is only 0.35.
