Here is 1,299,900 rubles for a two -door car this is a completely different matter, even here it is not so expensive. For comparison: Family Peugeot 407 Coupe today costs at least 1,568,200 rubles, and very similar to the novelty Infiniti G37 Coupe is generally more expensive for a million. Of course, in Hyundai there is no steering rear suspension, advanced electronic functionality or all-wheel drive system, and under the hood is not fiery V6 ... But on the other side of the Atlantic, in relatives for Genesis markets, they ask for some $ 23,000, and customers are asked for customers In full seriousness, they consider him as a direct competitor and Infiniti and no less eminent Nissan 350z. At the same time, the Koreans just needed to make a two-door Genesis a little more attractive than the latest generation of Tiburon (in our Hyundai Coupe market).
By the way, these cars are somewhat similar. In particular, the characteristic break of the lateral ribs clearly visible in the novelty was used by Koreans in the form of the first generation of Coupe/Tiburon, however, then the machine had a much softer outline. The second version has become tougher. By the way, the novelty is similar to the roof profile, but this is perhaps all that Genesis Coupe resembles the predecessors, there are not so many points of contact of these machines. If you are finally honest, then they will compare, perhaps, only by the number of doors, since Hyundai simply did not create anything like this until now.
In full, even the original sedan cannot be taken into account. Despite the formal relationship, he borrowed only the rear -wheel drive platform from him. Everything else here is new starting with a shortened wheelbase and a more budget front suspension (in this case, McPherson racks are used in the design, and the simple Genesis has double levers) and ending with the engine (a turbocharged four, which is equipped with Russian modifications, is not installed on ordinary Genesis).
But it is installed on ... Lancer Evo X, more precisely, not her, but her closest relative. The two -liter Theeta series unit at one time became another international security officer born then to Daimlerchrysler, Mitsubishi and Hyundai himself, so the Koreans have the same rights as the Japanese. However, unlike colleagues from Mitsubishi, they followed a more budget path, dispersing the four only to 213 hp. Those who will not be enough for the declared capacity, the engineers proposed to conjure over the security officer on their own. Koreans assure that Theta is easily dispersed to Lancer indicators by elementary flashing, moreover, they do not see anything fatal in such chip tuning, at least he will not be critical for the resource.
However, this game is not worth the candle. Firstly, it is unlikely that even the most dispersed Genesis Coupe will be able to go as an EVO: it is a little heavier, it is worse than the amusing, there is no full-wheel drive system, and reinforced brakes, sports suspension and a self-locking Torsen differential are offered only as options, but, alas, alas Not with us. Secondly, the most desperate Koreans can offer a 3.8-liter 303-horsepower V6, and even if these versions are not supplied to us, it is enough that such cars exist, and the delivery methods will be found.
In our country, Genesis is a completely mundane apparatus, which has by no means the hottest temperament. No, there are plenty of a turbocharged engine in the city or on the highway: non -aggressive, but quite confident acceleration allows you to go quickly enough. However, you will not achieve sports reactions from this car. The suspension is comfortable, but excessively supplied in the turns. Of course, we are not talking about critical rolls, but they are more than noticeable.
What is characteristic, the brakes turned out to be quite civilian. They are quite effective, but it does not smell like sports uncompromising: the feeling that you are going not on a compartment, but on a solid family sedan. The steering wheel is sharpened for comfort. Firstly, it has sufficient lightness, and secondly, in corners it practically does not resist holding the steering wheel in literally one finger. In general, in dynamics, the Koreans clearly preferred the comfort of the notorious sports, so the car leaves a double impression. On the one hand, Genesis Coupe has habits of an ordinary family car, on the other hand, having the necessary skills, even on the stock version, you can quite effectively drift and move quite aggressively. And the Koreans did not deprive him with external data ...
The two -door Genesis has nothing to do with the same name: in appearance it is a typical sports compartment, which is very reminiscent of the exterior of a similar Infiniti G37 in the design, so we are not talking about any heavyweight of a representative car. A massive beak passing into a bumper, obliquely cut from below optics and strong steel muscles ... By the way, it is much more dynamic in the back, although the Infiniti compartment, like the Skyline twin brother, has always been considered quite athletic.
Powns Genesis as a presentable interior, the picture would become almost perfect, but inside the novelty is not more affordable. The massiveness of Kokpit is respect, but traditionally a blue monochrome display (akin to what is on the I30 hatchback) does not raise questions. There are no newfangled electronic interfaces here and was not initially, the climate in the database, but there is no separate system even in the list of options. In general, well, modestly, but without frills. The same, by the way, can be said about materials. For America, this is quite acceptable, but we always have a VW Passat CC and Renault Laguna Coupe before our eyes, where the panels are fabled in appearance and by touch with polyurethane. They look richer. True, the orientation of these machines, like the nominal range of their habitat, to put it mildly, does not coincide.
At the very least, there are four seats in VW, which is still in Renault, therefore, at least nominally, they meet the family class requirements. The Genesis salon offers a landing formula 2+2, like Audi TT and the same G37, so only two adults will fit inside. At the same time, even children, and not only in the knees, but also in height (people higher than 170 centimeters, are ordered there, in the rear sofa, even in height (people tall above 170 centimeters are ordered).
By the way, by the second row, Koreans generally reacted with light irony. Understanding perfectly well that with traditional love of overseas residents for huge cars, it will most often live there as a reticulus or a portfolio with a laptop (the street racers simply dismantle it), they visionarily abandoned the split back. In pursuit of excessive trucks, it can be omitted (the need for this will be extremely rare, since for two people this trunk is more than enough), but only entirely. In general, everything is extremely simple. But you can transform the sofa in one movement. In addition, getting rid of an extra castle, the engineers have hidden implicitly and potential crickets.
They reacted to the landing of front passengers with full responsibility. Such seats would also decorate the EVO salon, but they are not only beautiful, they have a convenient profile, well -developed lateral support, sane regions. Only a limited supply of space vertically is upset: having a two -meter growth, the author of these lines banally rested the crown on the ceiling. However, in this, the Hyundai is not alone in the same Infiniti G37, I had to pull out a head into the hatch, and this is a different level. At least the price.
