Hyundai Equus: Time to grow up

Until recently, Hyundai was not seriously waved to the conquest of the Luxury segment of the world car market. No, an attempt by this kind of company, of course, was already made ten years ago with a model, also called Equus. However, progressive humanity did not take it seriously and safely forgotten it. It is understandable: the Korean car market is one thing, and the picky global markets are completely different. But, as they say, the girl matured and waved to the place in the Higher League of the Automobile Business
. Hyundai Equus, according to the creators, should talk on equal terms with elongated versions of Audi, BMW flagships, as well as Mercedes S-Klasse. Even with a fleeting gaze from the side, you can notice that against the background of the German classic of the Equus genre in terms of dimensions, it looks quite worthy of 5160 mm length. Having looked more closely, you understand that you have a kind of potpourri from the elements of the external design of honored old-aging brands of this genre. In the face of a horse with a non-core (and with bright in general) lighting, it is easy to confuse with S-Klasse. Or with Lexus LS (you can’t say with complete confidence). The back is also continuous associations with the appearance of grads from among Japanese luxury brands. The above is by no means for criticism of the Koreans. They are not at all embarrassed to admit that many technical and stylistic ideas openly borrowed from older brothers. This is probably justified. In the world of representative cars, a very definite stereotype of the machine has long developed both in terms of design and ergonomic and technical. After all, it still never occurred to anyone to endow the official means of transportation of some president with a futuristic appearance. And since conservatism here is held in high esteem, it is a sin not to use already worked out solutions. This thought is completely embodied in the interior of the machine. Characteristic links are found everywhere. For example, the key -controls control of the keys like Mercedes (in the form of a seat in profile). The development of a rotating joystick control of on -board electronics located between the front seats will not need someone who at least once in his life has encountered a BMW or MMI IDRive system. About finishing with natural wood, metal and skin can not be mentioned. This is in this case, of course. As expected, in the resident of his main inhabitant is located on the right rear chair. As for Hyundai Equus, the company has chosen a Japanese approach. This model is sold in Russia only in the only version worth 3.3 million rubles. It includes almost all the luxury inherent in the class of the Options and the black color of the body. You can only order the color of the skin, which is trimmed with the car's interior.
