Compared to the previous version, the base in the new Elantra grew by a good five centimeters, and the salon stretched out, there will be no space for the knees. Special thanks for the flat floor, instead of the central tunnel, only a small elevation. But there are a couple of shortcomings above the head from behind the place very little. With a height of 190 cm, I rest in a sloping roof. The feet under the front seats are also difficult to fit.

Let's move on to iron. The chassis is now easier. On the previous generation, Elantra was behind a multi -link suspension, now instead of it a semi -dependent beam. The only claim is to the rear suspension. She is excessively soft. On gentle waves, even the empty car sways significantly. The situation is greatly aggravated when passengers are in the back seat, and the trunk is loaded. The amplitude even with a pair of riders on the gallery becomes critical, at the same time, the fluctuations are fading oh for how long. Acceleration to hundreds of 10.2 seconds. And the maximum speed is slightly higher than 202 km/h against 195 in version 1.6.

In mixed mode with combat bastards in the stream and in high-speed sections of the 1.6-liter engine, a 9.810 liters (according to a passport are 6.7) per 100 km, and a 1.8-liter required 10.210.7 liters (according to the passport with automatic transmission- 7.1 l).


The central console is stylish and functional. Management is not overloaded and does not require addiction. On the sides of the console comfortable pockets, on the right there is even a socket.

In the initial versions of Base and Optima, the air conditioner, in all the rest, is a two -zone climate (in the photo). Central deflectors cannot be blocked.

In all versions, an audio system with control on the steering wheel, four -channel acoustics (anterior stereoopara is two -component) and AUX and USB connectors, to which IPOD can be connected. The gearboxes are now both six-speed (previously the mechanics were five-, and the automatic transmission is four-speed). There are absolutely no complaints about their work. With manual transmission, the selectivity of the transmission mechanism is not bad. At the same time, on the display of the dashboard, prompts can be displayed to turn on the desired gear in order to ensure the best efficiency.


The front seat does not indulge in developed lateral support, but it is correctly satisfied, it holds well in corners. Behind the knees of the place is just a car. But tall riders will support the roof with the crown.

The salon was a scattering of cup holders, niches and pockets. In the central box, the cover of which is also an adjustable armrest, a mirror camera with a couple of lenses simply drowned. The armrest can interfere with large drivers.

The machine is good for its quickness. He can jump into three gears down at once. However, overheads (for example, as on Chevrolet Cruze), when you dump the speed, the power unit is not trained. The reduced transition is carried out only if the right pedal to the floor is carried out. However, for active drivers, a manual mode is provided, which allows gear to juggle as it pleases. The engine holds an unlimited amount of time at a given step, allowing you to quickly accelerate, only by pressing the gas. In the next gear, the machine switches upon reaching the maximum engine speed. By the way, there are also tips, like the mechanical version, in the manual mode of the machine, too.


Alas and ah. Using the trunk is not convenient in everything. To fold the seats, you must first open the lid, and then pull it for a couple of heels (with the inscription PULL), freeing the back fixtors. What if the rear riders need to get any things from the trunk, for example, on the go?

When the backs of the seats fold, the seat belts remain in the eyes. Important thing! After the backs rise, the belts will always be at hand.

The cover from the inside has a finish, but there is no handle for closing.

All Elantra, except for the Sport version, equipped with a non -clock access system, do not have the opening key on the trunk lid. You can unite the latter either from the cabin or from the key.

In the luggage compartment there are eyes for fastening the grid and the only hook, but there are no pockets and organizer. Versions for the Russian market will be equipped with a full -sized complete spare wheel

By the end of the year, Hyundai plans to sell 2000 cars from us (in 2010, so many previous generation cars were sold in two months). Comfort flaunts a dynamic stabilization system (in Hyundai it is called ESC Electronic Stability Control), a rain sensor, a two -zone climate with an ionizer.

It will not be easy to do with such prices in the Elantra market, although Hyundai sales records are not even going to beat this segment. Many of the closest competitors of Enntra with similar equipment is cheaper, for example, Kia Cerato (1.6 liters, 126 hp from 609 900 rubles), Chevrolet Cruze (1.6 liters, 141 hp from 624,000 rubles .) or Toyota Corolla (1.6 liters, 124 hp from 647,000 rubles).
