Selling cars - not to trade with seeds. Hyundai Coupe is an example: beautiful body, decent engines, not the highest price. But there is no demand. Unlike Europe.
Hyundai Coupe can be safely brought into a hot ten rarest cars on the streets of Moscow. The reason is simple - cars with a body compartment are clearly not bought as a machine for all occasions. You won’t take the country seedlings on it, and therefore the Hyundai Coupe became either the second car in the family, or the first and only, but the young man or the young lady. But the youth, as you know, tries to seem more intelligent, richer and more successful than they really are. And Korean machines are still unfairly considered to be automobile consumer goods, and if a young man has a sum sufficient to buy a new Hyundai Coupe, then rather for this money he will buy a used Audi, BMW or Mercedes - they have more pathos.
Meanwhile, the attitude to Korean cars as something second-rate deeply erroneously. In the process of working on this article, we had to talk with many specialists in the services that serve Koreans. No matter how much the masters were strained - they could not remember any special congenital defects inherent in the Hyundai Coupe.
Buy a compartment. Despite the highly limited demand, the Hyundai compartment is quite widely represented in our market. Dealers focus on a model with a new V6 2.7-liter engine, which the car was just equipped with-after global facelifting in the fall of 2001. In the secondary market, there are mainly fresh Hyundai Coupe at the age of two to three years. Three engines were installed on them: with a volume of 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 liters. The two -liter engine is typical for cars of the domestic Korean market or for those brought from America, where the Hyundai Coupe was sold under the name Tiburon. But Moscow dealers are ready to bring such a model to order. If you are offered a version with a 1.8 liter engine, know that it was discontinued in 2001.
In the secondary market, you can find a very fresh (for the year of production) a car at a very attractive price - sometimes almost half as much as new. The reason is simple: such a copy will immediately require serious investments in a tin. I went to such a Coupe lady, which Papik gave a beautiful blue machine. And the poor machine is all chewed in a circle: on the wing of a dent from a summer cottage, on the door - a hall on the side - a scratch. Of course, you can ride, but it’s a shame. And body iron is expensive.
Naturally, you can try to choose the non -original iron that is done in Taiwan - it is much cheaper than your native. But all savings are naught at the expense of quality. So, many faced the fact that they often do not coincide on the details, or even there are simply no seats. In addition, non -original body elements are less stiff, and their seams are often not laid with sealant. After such a repair, the machine looks good only at some distance, and the non -native hood is literally twisted when opening. But very often the owner of Hyundai Coupe simply has no other options. As already mentioned, the car is rare and not a single service holds spare parts for the future in the warehouse. And delivery from Korea to order will take at best at least a month.
Capital motor. But with the engine and chassis, such problems are not expected. Hyundai Coupe engines were developed back in the early 90s under the then environmental norms, and they have their origin from the most reliable Mitsubishi engines. A relatively new development is only six 2.7 liters. But they have been sold in Russia for now a few units, and the service centers have not yet accumulated statistics of breakdowns.
Of course, you should not refuel a car out of a dirty roadside barrel, but you should not get to the other extreme and dangle each time to refuel to the other end of the city just because the motor, as you think, agree to work only on gasoline with one specific refueling, and from any He has the indigestion of the stomach. Moreover, this applies to the entire range of engines that are found on the Hyundai Coupe. The only thing you need to strictly follow is the state of the timing belt, the cliff of which inevitably leads to a meeting on the Elbe of the valves and the piston, as well as on any motor, where there are more than two valves on the cylinder, although the Hyundai concern and recommends changing it from An interval of 80 thousand kilometers of run, life makes its own adjustments, and all domestic services recommend doing this with a run of 60 thousand kilometers. And at the same time, since they still climbed into the motor, it is worth changing the rest of the drive belts - the generator, air conditioning and the belt water. It will pour somewhere at $ 200. A set of belts will cost $ 136 - the remaining amount must be given for work. Remember that the overhaul of the engine is much more expensive. And do not forget to change the fuel filter ($ 15) every 30 thousand kilometers. More often - even better, since the old filter happens from our dirt tightly to the fuel highway tightly, and unscrewing it without breaking anything, it is almost impossible - you have to change it together with the filter and the gas pipeline, and this is far from a hundred dollars.
Economic economy. Hyundai Coupe with a 1.6 l engine was equipped only with a mechanical gearbox, and on other motors you can find both transmission options. There are no complaints about the mechanical box at all, and the machine should not forget every 40 thousand kilometers of mileage change oil ($ 72 per oil and filter and another $ 28 for work). At the manual transmission, the interval between the oil change is one and a half times more, and the procedure costs three times cheaper. In addition, the automatic box does not tolerate unskilled intervention at all, so if any problems arise, only the Hyundai company service should be contacted, otherwise the consequences can be fatal and ruined.
The Hyundai Coupe suspension is even constructively similar to the Hyundai Lantra II suspension, on the platform of which the car was created, it is absolutely not interchangeable in detail. And you will need them as soon as the Hyundai Coupe mileage approaches 100 thousand kilometers. By this point, most likely, it is time to change the silent blocks in a circle (and there are only 12 pieces in the rear suspension and four more in the front) and all shock absorbers. Moreover, it is not at all necessary to chase your native spare parts - almost all the elements of the chassis of the Hyundai Coupe are produced by the German company Lemforder. The Germans do almost everything: the same silent blocks, levers in the collection, hub bearings, and in price and quality, Korean and German spare parts almost do not differ. You can also choose analogues to native shock absorbers, filters and brake blocks.
Dance from the stove. Due to the fact that the Hyundai Coupe has only two doors, the tilling car for twisting is very hard. And the quality of fitting of the interior elements is so high that even on cars with a high mileage in the cabin very quietly - nothing is rattling and not creaking. Except that the stove is not designed for our climate and in severe frosts the interior warms up quite slowly. The Hyundai Coupe driver has to look for a compromise all the time. If the stove fan is turned on on the blow of the driver’s head and legs, the windshield begins to freeze. And if you make the glass priority, then the driver freezes, because it does not burst on the glass, so that it does not burst, the cooler air is supplied than to the salon.
