Honda CR-V test drive since 2011 crossover

Honda Cr-V test drive: luxury remains

In anticipation of the start of Russian sales of the new Honda CR-V, we went to Munich to get to know the novelty closer.

The start of sales of the new Honda CR-V, which without a doubt, the main character of the stand of the Japanese company at the Moscow International Motor Show is scheduled for November of this year, and Russian prices at the Russian representative office of the Honda Motor Rus promise to be called the other day.

The prerequisites that Honda CR-V can be the most expensive offer in the classroom, more than enough. Take at least the fact that even now the price tag for the previous generation is just starting from a mark of 1,149,000 rubles for an empty 2.0-liter machine with a manual transmission and is closely selected to a psychological mark of 1,500,000 rubles for a top-end crossover of 2.4 liters per automatic transmission.

At the back of the new Honda CR-V, it retained branded vertical lights that were used on previous generations of the crossover.

But crossovers in Russia love, and Honda Cier-Vi, whose first generation appeared in 1995 especially. Therefore, there is practically no doubt that there is practically no Japanese piece of the Japanese. In the meantime, we will see how much Honda differs from the predecessor, because the platform, motors and gearboxes have not changed.

Instead of the sad gaze of the CR-V muzzle with an extended lower lip, now smiles broadly smiling in a prosperous American smile in the manner of the Honda CrossStour crossover. Due to the littered front racks, the profile became more aggressive, but they decided to leave the vertical architecture of the rear lights unchanged. Despite the fact that the wheelbase of 2620 mm remained the same, and the length and height were completely lost 5 and 30 mm, respectively, the Honda looks more solid than the predecessor.

It is difficult to say whether the new generation of the crossover has become more beautiful. It's just that the car is now different - made in general style with other Honda models.

The salon added in all respects: there are more space, the range of adjustment of the seats and the steering wheel increased, the materials of the finish improved, and the graphics on the navigation system were bursting. In addition, now not only pleasant little things like soft rollers for knees in the central tunnel, but also more premium options, including the electric drive of the trunk lids appeared here.

Behind, as before, spacious and there is no central tunnel. The volume of the trunk increased to 589 liters, and the loading height decreased by 25 mm. You can fold the rear row of seats by pulling the special levers located on the walls of the trunk.

Despite the fact that in general, the interior decoration has become better, the islands of hard plastic in Honda are still found. Between the front seats is a full -fledged central tunnel. On the sides of the cape with a gearbox selector, soft knee pads are attached.

Planting in the new Honda is not bad, ergonomics without complaints, everything is comfortable and at hand. The front chairs, sheathed with suede, are well held in corners, and completely leather finish, on the contrary, strives to throw off the rider in a sharp turn, like an angry bull on the rodeo.

One of the main news can be called a refusal of a 2.4 liter gasoline engine. Now the Honda CR-V engines line has decreased to two units. Due to the fact that the presentation in Munich was a pan-European, the overwhelming number of machines for the test were diesel, and 2.0-liter crossovers with automatic transmission (the only version that will be available in Russia), the Hondians brought only two. And this is for 40 Russian journalists!

The motor in expensive versions is now starting from the button. There is a branded ECON key that changes the settings of the motor and air conditioner. The new beautiful dashboard is read perfectly, the schedule of the navigation system has also improved. On the tunnel between the front seats there are already three cup holders. The rear row of seats can be folded by pulling special levers in the trunk.

It goes without saying that a real hunt immediately began on gasoline machines, and on the first segment, my partner and I had to be content with a crossover equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 150 hp. and a 5-speed automatic.

In vain, the Hondians still ignore the Russian market and categorically do not carry diesel cars to us. Moly would be the first of the Japanese colleagues and fill the niche where the diesel Hyundai IX35, Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage have already made their way. I caught myself thinking that for the first time I was driving diesel honda. Immediately remembered the stories of colleagues about what the Japanese have a quiet and burdened turbodiesel. And it really is! A characteristic roar is heard only on idle, and you can’t call acceleration sluggish. The crossover willingly starts and confidently holds in the stream, does not graze when it is necessary to overtake the short -rope, woven along the unlimited German autobahn at a speed of 150 km/h.

The diesel Honda CR-V pleases with good traction and coordinated work of the motor and gearbox. At the same time, a characteristic diesel rumble enters the salon only at idle. With noise insulation in the movement of the new CR-V, everything is in order.

The motor+box here is perfectly configured, so even in active mode the machine manages to switch in a timely manner and holding the tachometer arrow in the most effective area when all 350 nm of torque are available.

After lunch, we persuade our colleagues to wave our diesel machine for a 2.0-liter gasoline version with manual transmission and front-wheel drive. This is a new basic modification in the CR-V line. The 155 -horsepower engine (in the Russian Federation will be 150 hp) in combination with mechanics - also a good tandem. Due to the well -selected gear rates and clear moves of the Honda mechanical transmission can be not only quiet and obedient in the city, but also allows you to play on a winding lane. Of course, there is no diesel pickup at medium speeds, but if you keep the tachometer arrow in good shape, then the mechanical Honda CR-V can be quite dynamic and even gambling.

Now the CR-V gasoline engine is only one. The power of the 2.0-liter unit is 155 hp. For the market of the Russian Federation, its return will be reduced to 150 hp. But we will sell less strangled cars under Euro-4. There is a chance that their craving will be better than European.

Finally, on the second day of the test drive, we managed to take possession of one of the two cherished gasoline 2.0-liter machines with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission. But after the first tens of kilometers through the winding suburbs of Munich, the diesel diesel has disappointment in the middle, the car with the manual transmission has the ability to spur the motor reduced CR-V gasoline with automatic transmission accelerates hard, and the gas responds lazily to the pedal pressing. Whether the gas is drowned to the full or you go to half the pedal of the difference. It feels like part of the torque was simply lost in the bowels of an automatic transmission. Or is it a consequence of the strict ecological requirements of Euro-5?

In defense of the machine, I’ll say that the automatic box performs its direct duties well, switches smoothly and in a timely manner, it goes to the reduced only with a barely noticeable delay. But you can achieve a more or less acceptable dynamics only by stomping along the accelerator to the Kik Dawn.

The 2.4-liter motor will no longer be. And for us only a 2.0-liter version with automatic transmission is prepared for us. Neither diesel, nor a gasoline machine with front -wheel drive and manual transmission will be brought to us.

Moreover, the crossover will steer well. The change of electric power steering is noticeable, perhaps, only at high speed in protracted turns, when the lack of proper reverse effort requires periodic adjustment of the trajectory. To a greater extent, this manifests itself in a basic machine with 17-inch discs, richer cars are equipped with an inch more wheels.

Far from the road on the new Honda CR-V, it is better not to drive away. Seer-vi had not shone before the qualities of a rogue, and now, without that, not the largest clearance of 185 mm was cut to frankly Passenger 165 mm. Yes, and the previous multi -disc booth controlled by two hydraulic pumps was replaced by electronic, although the principle of operation is connected only after the front slipping remained the same.

The volume of the trunk increased to 589 liters, and the loading height decreased by 25 mm. In expensive trim levels, the rear door is equipped with an electric drive.

But on the direct Honda CR-V is well, it does not pair with the side wind and willingly responds to the movement of the steering wheel. In the bend, the car is stable and deliberately safe. Like, do everything according to the rules, and even to rush to anything. And if you still push? The rolls are small, and the crossover comes on the arc, but the excitement is at least. The demolition of the front hand was played a little, the stabilization system in general is really not to rush. And I don't want to. If you do not rush anywhere, then the car is transformed. CR-V delivers good smoothness of the stroke, improved sound insulation and adequate reactions.

And what else is needed to cross half of the city’s besieged by traffic jams after a hard working day? In modern reality, this is the element of Honda CR-V and its like, and the fact that the constantly growing Russian market was left only one version is still a pity.

A little story
The first generation of Honda CR-V appeared in 1995. At first, the novelty was introduced in Japan, and a year later CR-V reached the United States. That machine, which is the first Honda crossover, was built on the fifth generation platform Honda Civic. The motor offered one four -cylinder unit issued 129 hp. and 180 Nm. After restyling, he was modernized and the return grew to 148 hp. and 194 Nm. Two gearboxes were offered to choose from: a five -speed mechanics and a four -band machine. The basic versions had a front -wheel drive, and the modifications more expensive were equipped with an all -wheel drive system with a hydromoft in the rear axle, where up to 52% traction could be supplied with two hydraulic pumps.

The second generation of Honda CR-V was built on the basis of the seventh Sivik. Due to the attractive price, the car was in great demand in the US market. Unlike a two-wishes installed in the first generation, the new Honda CR-V received a front-line front suspension and a substantially redesigned rear. A 2.0-liter motor on American crossovers was replaced by a 2.4-liter engine with a capacity of 163 hp. and 220 nm. The transmission was offered only automatic, and the alternative to the choice of front or all -wheel drive was left. In the European market, the second-generation Honda CR-V was equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline four and a 2.2-liter turbodiesel. Boxes 5- and 6-speed mechanics.

The third CR-V generation appeared in 2006. The car received a modern design, a completely new body, a reduced center of gravity, modernized pendants, a reduced mass and the best rigidity for twisting. In total, two gasoline engines with a volume of 2.0 and 2.4 liters with a capacity of 150 and 166 hp were proposed. Accordingly, as well as a 2.2-liter turbodiesel. Mechanics or automatic transmission. The all -wheel drive scheme has not changed.
