Shampoo and air conditioning in one bottle is convenient. And what if I want the same car to be convenient for everyday trips around the city and at the same time possessed high patency? Does the fusion of styles, advantages and opportunities help here? Efficiency, capacity, permeability and at the same time control capable of ease to delight even a woman - what taste will be at such a cocktail?Honda solved the answer to these questions, releaseing a car with a non-zero name CR-V. And how much she managed to combine all of the above in one bottle, we decided to check personally, choosing as a test for tests exquisite - to become a car - a natural landscape.
Charming mutant
We do not know how Hondovsky engineers managed to catch in one cart of a horse and a trembling lan, but the result of alchemical experiments was something cute and also resembling an SUV. And also - the chunky such a wagon, and a little bit - even minivan. In general, a fully formed mutant. And his name is quite appropriate - CR-V!
But what is really the difference in which it was taken to light if CR-V looks attractive and harmoniously combines the advantages of all the listed machines? We will understand better how he succeeds.
Well, with an SUV, everything is clear: enlarged ground clearance, four-wheel drive, and for external entourage - the spare track, which made the back door. All in an adult. Why then do we persistently refuse to recognize a full-fledged SUV in it? The case is in the absence of dispensing, and respectively, a lowering range of transmissions. Yes, and the four-wheel drive, the very named Realtime 4WD, turns on (automatically) only when the front wheels begin to lose the clutch with the road. And the rest of the time the CR-V behaves like an ordinary front-wheel drive car. Something similar from the world of motorcycles comes to mind: there are enduro for heavy off-road, and there are urban - through curb borders or go through the stairs. So here. Honda CR-V is ideal for urban ride: the same borders, hatches and tramways are fucked with the ease of other SUVs. Yes, and outside the city, the car is not small - at the cottage or on a picnic, what it will deliver you with guaranteed reliability. And what else is needed by the usual citizen?
... and two beds
However, we were fascinated. What about the similarity with the universal? Yes, everything is fine: a spacious trunk, in the floor of which hidden a folding table, the rear door of two halves (one opens up, the other side), lights, in accordance with the latest trends located on the roof racks the most important thing that unites CR-V With passenger universal, - the convenience of planting-disembarkation. Despite the significant clearance, here you get the leg to the earth sitting on the seat pillow, and therefore, when moving to the salon, there is no need to jump like a kangaroo.
The CR-V minivans got a rather large inner height of the cabin and the ability to move on it without leaving the car, "there was a free pass between the front seats. By the possibility of transformation of built-in furniture Honda CR-V, too, a relative of minivans. The rear seats can be folded as ahead (to increase the volume of the trunk) and back. In the second case, they together with decomposed front seats form smooth sleeping places. And between these two extremes there are various intermediate options, since the rear row consists of two equal halves. In addition, there are individual armrests for four passengers and a lot of pockets and gloves throughout the salon, and under the front passenger seat - a large extending, like from a written table, drawer. The list of additional equipment has a very convenient folding table, which is installed in the passage between the front seats, and the decent size of the hatch is very good for video filming and other similar purposes.
AGAINST THE STREAM
Acquaintance with the technical data of the CR-V assigned us to the idea that Honda has recently decided to sail against the main course of the world's automotive industry. Almost all manufacturers today try to offer as widely as possible selection of options for each of its own model. Honda, on the contrary, is no longer the first non-alternative car, which is equipped with only one engine and only one transmission, thus eliminating the buyer from the painful problem of choice. In the case of CR-V, this is a gasoline double-liter motor and an automatic transmission. Given that the connection of the rear axle is carried out automatically, without the participation of the driver, the control of the machine in any situation requires minimal manipulations.
The engine was, as we assumed, very clockwork, with a branded Hondovsky character. The box is also very intelligible. Even despite the lack of kick-down, it instantly jumps on a reduced transmission with a sharp opening of the gas. Yes, and the rest of the time gives the motor to unwind on the entire coil and only then goes to the next step.
So riding on CR-V is quite cheerful, quite capable of delight. Naturally, in the urban flow of problems with active maneuvering does not occur.
The water and pretty sharp steering are poured onto the same mill, and a pleasant, rigid suspension. Rolls in turns although somewhat higher than that of a car, but not so much to cause discomfort and fear for stability, and an excessive routine, peculiar to SUVs, does not peremiate passengers.
The only spoon was the gear selector. Located on the steering column, it has very small intervals between positions and very rigid fixation, which makes it difficult to manage it - immediately turn on the necessary transmission is not always possible. More often after the first attempt to overcome the plot of the lock, you click Runners - and skip the necessary mode. However, on the machine you can travel almost all day, never once without switching.

Selecting to shoot outside the city, we were convinced of the merits of the car when driving around rough terrain. We did not have any problems here, although we boldly drove out there, where we would not put on the passenger car. So, appreciating the possibilities of the car, we can assure: it will not let go in most situations that you can meet. Well, for avid jeepers there are other cars.
Summing up impressions, we concluded that the Honda CR-V is perfectly adapted to the difficult road conditions of domestic cities, convenient in everyday use and at the same time can satisfy most of the needs of the modern citizen in communicating with nature and with each other.

And what else
In the past few years, the all-wheel drive genre defined its laws of development, which is particularly clearly visible on the example of cars mentioned here. Appeared before the rest of Suzuki Vitara marked the departure from the rustic brutal appearance and prompted competitors to the design sizes. With all this, it remained albeit a little, but quite a serious passing, having a full-fledged off-road transmission.
The next step in the same direction was made by KIA, releaseing Sportage SUV with very friendly, if not to tell toy, appearance.
Even further went toyota with her RAV 4, who traded a dispensing box for a catchy, a very funny appearance. True, the constantly included a four-wheel drive and the blocking inter-axis differential left the machine quite significant possibilities and outside the asphalt. Nevertheless, RAV 4 consolidated the reputation of a beach SUV.
Designers Honda CR-V creatively reworked the ideas of their predecessors - the car received a transmission similar to the one that is applied on ordinary all-wheel drive universities. The rear axle is connected here, only when there is a need for this, and everything else the car has the most hand-actuating habits.
