There was a time when a fair wind constantly blew for Civic: buyers definitely took his side. But then the weather changed: many consumers did not understand Honda's attempts to turn a mischievous compact into a spineless soap dish. They conducted the experiment on Civic: there was still no fair wind, so it was worth risking. As a result, they overdid it: among the Civic golf class cars, he became one of the most avant-garde, which side to look at him. However, buyers seemed to appreciate the efforts of the company: the eighth version was more popular than all their predecessors! And all because the previous, sports, Civic were completely different. After all, true connoisseurs are always a little, unlike the floating lovers. And if earlier the compact Honda seemed a modestly dressed girl with character, now she has turned into a girl with a bright appearance, dressed in a bikini, which bribed the Russians. And so that until recently, our compatriots were ready to stand behind this model in a long line.
General impressions
Outside the Civic hatchback, a recognizable futuristic machine with a non -trivial profile, expressive optics in general, after a very boring predecessor, such changes delight! But the sedan was created as if in contrast to the hatchback: various stylistics of cars, depending on the type of body, was also characteristic of the previous generation, but then at least they met the general concept. And then there are practically no external similarity of two models!
The situation with the salon is this: for each version, its own interior has been developed, and not one seems boring. Plastic, albeit inexpensive (in addition to gray), does not inspire meals. On the contrary, one gets the impression that the mood rises. And what about practicality? Pragmatists choose a sedan, and right: the salon by the standards of the segment is quite spacious, the rear sofa is quite wide. Ergonomics in both modifications are good: Honda is traditionally considered one of the leaders to create understandable and pleasant to use interfaces.
On the course of Civic it seems typical Honda: the suspension is quite assembled (though a little harsh), the steering wheel informs the driver well about what is happening with the wheels. The basic engine for its working volume is quite decent. Nevertheless, it is better to look at the athletes at the more powerful version of Type R: She has a stronger motor, and in general she is more exciting. One thing is a shame: most competitors have sports modifications thanks to turbocharges more noticeably more powerful than Civic Type R.

Choosing a body
Civic’s models are small, although you can’t call it meager. As already noted, there is both a hatchback and a sedan. Despite the general name, the cars are very different: the hatchback is expensive and stylish, the sedan is simpler and simpler. The cost of Civic (as well as equipment) in different versions varies significantly, we can even say that these are two independent cars. Therefore, it is not necessary to talk about a surcharge for a particular body type of body, and therefore, in the head, the basic levels of equipping the sedan with a hatchback will be considered separately.
Note that the hatchback is both 5-door and 3-door, but both are equipped with a 2-liter engine and are equipped with a Type R. nameplate.
