Tianjin The fourth largest metropolis of the Middle Kingdom with a population of 12 million people. It is a port city and a city-factory, where the chief sea gates of China and the most powerful production cluster are located. At the entrance to the city, we are met by frequency from flags of dozens of companies with world names who opened their production here: Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Samsung, Motorola, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen And now there will be another flag, decorated with a Great Wall tooth with a Great Logo Wall.

The plant built by Great Wall in the Special Economic Area TEDA (Tianjin Economic Development Area) in just two years, will be able to produce up to 400,000 cars in the year now so much make all the company's enterprises together! But this will happen not earlier than 2015, when all three plants of the plant are put into operation. The current power of the enterprise is twice the least 200,000 cars per year, but also to such volumes it is necessary to still. So far, neither foreign markets nor the internal market of China are unable to digest such a quantity of Wollov Great.

The time of rapid growth of China car market has passed. Since the beginning of this year, sales of new machines have increased here only by 6%, and many local automakers who built ambitious plans for increasing the volume of production have already encountered the overproduction crisis.

But against the background of other Chinese companies, the Great Wall brand has a more advantageous position, as more oriented to export. The largest markets for their products of Chile, Australia, Italy, as well as Russia, which takes the first place on sales of Hover SUVs.

Haper is one of the most popular Chinese in our country. Durable frame design, unpretentious Mitsubishi licensed motors, four-wheel drive and acceptable quality, multiplied by a robust equipment and an attractive price, provided models Good demand: on Hover H3 / H5 Russian buyers even have to be recorded in the queue! But is it waiting for the same success a new crossover?

Hover H6 has little in common with its predecessors. It is based on the body, which allowed to lower the center of gravity and make the salon more spacious and comfortable, which is from frame models. The motor here is located not along, but across the engine compartment, therefore the monolarified version H6 leading wheels front. The suspension is completely independent, fixed on individual subframes. Disk brakes on both axes, and the list of security systems includes not only ABS and front airbags, but also side pillows and security curtains, and even ESP!

The design of the crossover is completely new, but you won't call it original: it is here, then the ears of different models come out there. The front part is clearly pulled with Mercedes-Benz ML, while the fog niches are redrawn with Kia Sorento. The profile guesses the BMW X3 features, and the back compilation of the VW Touareg motifs and Porsche Cayenne. The Salon is the same story: the front panel of Sodan with Mercedes Em Em, and the tide under the KP lever and the steering wheel resemble similar details of the Honda CR-V ...

And how the car is on the go? This we found out during a short test drive, held right on the territory of the new Great Wall plant in Tianjin. We got a party Hover H6 with front-wheel drive and mechanics. And it's a pity, because I wanted to try all-wheel drive versions with a Korean Motor-Motor inaccessible for HAPPs. There were two 2.0-liter gasoline litsuha Mitsubishi with a capacity of 122 hp. and the newest turbodiesel of the same volume that develops 147 hp, its own development of Great Wall.

On the go, the gasoline version was not impressed: the car accelerates sluggishly, and the fuzzy drive of the 5-speed transmission beat off every desire to spur a motor frequent change of transmission. But the diesel crossover turned out to be a surveillance. Energetic kick after 2000 revolutions, I will tell you very much! That's just managed by Hover H6 a little better than the truck: it doesn't react to easyly swinging the steering wheel, if the steering wheel is more cool, the crossover begins frighteningly to roll.

But if we consider that in China, the price of a new Great Wall starts with 110,000 yuan (approximately 500,000 rubles), it can be forgiven not only these, but also other sins, like a bad smelling plastic salon or archaic graphics of a regular media system. However, there will be no such prices in Russia. The cheapest Hover H6 with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, front-wheel drive and mechanical mechanics will cost more than 700,000 rubles, and this is already someone else's territory engaged in crossover stamps: Mitsubishi ASX, Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot 3008, Skoda Yeti and SsangYong New Actyon.

The Great Wall plant in Tianjin turned out to be a modern and well-equipped enterprise. On the welding site, the responsible operations perform two dozen robots of the Swedish company ABB, and the painting of the machines is made on the fully automated YaskaWa line, where even the paint is selected without human participation. Of course, cheap hand-made work (the average salary of the Chinese working 20003,000 yuan, for our money it is about 900013 500 rubles) at the factory is widely used, but on most Russian enterprises of foreign autocompany the level of automation is even lower! However, it is not so important who collects the car robot or a person. The quality of this depends not strongly, if the proper level of its control is provided. How things are about the Chinese, I don't say, but, according to the representatives of the Great Wall distributor in Russia, the company IRITO, the quality of these brand is favorably different from other products of the local car industry.

Love not love
Construction suspension wave modern. So, to reduce the unsavory masses in it is used aluminum. Contemporary

The rear seat can be adjusted on the corner of the backrest or completely fold. Comfortable

Depending on the size and number of booties, the trunk shelf can be fixed on one of two levels. Volume

Driving
The low sensitivity of the steering wheel and frightening rolls in turns are poorly combined with the vague dynamics of the diesel version.

Salon
Looks like a mix of designer solutions from Honda and Mercedes-Benz not bad, but smells ...

Comfort
The car is spacious and not very noisy, and the diesel fondite is even less than a gasoline engine.

Security
There are ABS, ESP, and even 6 (!) Airbags.

Price
For the Chinese Hover H6 too expensive.

Advantages and disadvantages
+ Contemporary Design, True Vicious Motor, Spacious Salon, Spacious Trunk
- unpleasant chemical smell in the cabin, eclectic design, mediocre handling, high price

Specifications
Dimensions - 4640x1825x1690 mm

Our opinion
The Great Wall crossover largely exceeds its framework predecessors, but to the level of thoroughbred classmates, alas, proven. And considering that such a trump card of the Chinese, as a low price, in his case no longer play, it will not be easy with Hover H6 competitors.
