Ford Mondo is no exception. Someone will like it more, someone less. But to pay attention to this car, of course, is worth it. The current Mondeo was born in 2000 and was accepted on the market very favorably. In Europe, in terms of sales, he came close to the recognized leader of the Passata class. With such a high level of competition, an unsuccessful model is not capable of this.
 
Our Mondeo is also sold successfully. Largely due to reasonable pricing policy. This is not to say that it is very cheap, but for the modern European model its price is perceived quite justified. And then the restyled version arrived. Moreover, compared to the previous one, it practically did not rise in price. So there is a reason to look at Ford.
  
What is how much?
The starting price of Mondeo is very attractive. For 19,100 euros, you get a sedan with a 1.8-liter 125-horsepower engine in the basic version of Cor. For its volume, this engine is quite frisky. In any case, Mondeo equipped with him on the road does not look flawed at all. And you can’t call the Cor of Spartan. By and large, it lacks only the heating of the seats and an electric drive of mirrors with heating. But even if you order these options, and paint the body with a metallic, the price of the sedan will still meet 20 thousand euros.
 
By the way, the sedan is most beneficial for Kor-1,8. If in other performances and with other engines it costs 500 euros cheaper than the hatchback and 1000 euros is cheaper than the station wagon, then in the version of Kor-1,8 per 1000 and 1400 euros, respectively.
 
Those who want to get a 2-liter motor should be prepared to pay 19002400 euros, and a more comfortable version of the trend (starts with a 2.0 engine) will cost 900 euros more expensive. If you are interested in climate control, CD magnet and rear electric windows, it is more profitable to take a trend as a basis than ordering these positions in Cor. But the trend has a number of pleasant little things.
 
But still the most profitable price/comfort ratio is a version of the GIA. It costs relatively inexpensive (for example, a 2-liter sedan 23,600 euros), but contains many very useful and pleasant things that are much cheaper in the package than separately. At the same time, the velor salon with wooden decoration and chrome moldings performed by the trend is impossible even for surcharge.
 
But the TOP comprehension GIA-X offers obvious excesses. Of the 2500 euros, for which it is more expensive than the GIA, the lion's share falls on the alkantara-abode of the alkantar with an electric drive adjustments of the front seats, a wooden steering wheel and 17-inch wheels. And xenon headlights and a CD changer can be ordered in the GIA.
 
Sport modifications (from 24,000 euros) and, especially, ST220 with a 3-liter 220-horsepower V6 (from 31,400 euros) do not apply for mass. Equipped with low and hard sports suspension, they are worse adapted for daily year -round operation and are addressed to rare lovers of hot.
 
But Mondeo offers a very profitable 2.5-liter 170-horsepower V6 for civil versions Trend, GIA and GIA-X. For example, a sedan performed by a trend with a 6-cylinder engine costs from 25,800 euros. This is one of the most tempting in the classroom proposals for the prestigious V6.

For acquaintance, we chose the best-selling modification of the Sedan Trend-2.0. Initially, such a car costs 22,400 euros. But our car was stained with metallic (290 euros), an electric -riveting with heating (170 euros) and a washer of headlights (120 euros). As a result, 22,980 euros ran.

But the faceless, averaged by the Asian remote, which was Mondeo of the previous generation, you can’t call the current car. Modern Mondeo is unambiguously perceived as a European car.
 
If the design is a matter of taste, then the size of the car is estimated more objectively. Against the background of Mondeo competitors, it looks long and wide like a floodplain flood on the ground. And this is not a visual deception. The car really has a almost record in the class length, width and base. Accordingly, Mondeo should be very spacious inside. But we will still check it. And for starters, we will close the car around again.
 
The gas tank hatch, thank God, is unlocked by the central lock, and not with the key, as on the focus. So, at the gas station you will not have to jump around the lock frozen after the winter washing. Does the hood cover really open a human lever from the cabin? Alas, the blue oval on the radiator grille treacherously turns and under it is revealed by a traditional castle larva for the European Ford Well, what is the use of the hood that can not be opened by breaking the glass of the driver's door? Having taken up a comfortable handle under a natural grip, we open the door and find ourselves in the cabin. It is really very spacious here even by middle -class standards. There are also enough space over the heads of the rear passengers, even three will fit the width on the couch. The convenience of planting and eating rear passengers is noteworthy. The interior is made in the same style as the body. There are practically no smooth transitions. All lines of the torpedo, the upholstery of the doors and seats seemed to be drawn along the ruler. In general, one gets the impression that the interior developers looked at the strict passata interior. Hence the abundance in the design of such unusual forms of rectangles. Here are the door armrests almost a copy of straight Volkswagen railing. Nevertheless, the interiorists defended their crown oval in the form of a dial of hours on the central console. They look much more noble than state -owned liquid crystal timers and are a genuine decoration of the salon.

By the way, in the updated Mondeo a new climate control panel appeared, a new line of audio systems, and in the performance of the GIA and GIA-X, the central console received a wooden finish. However, I am not ready to say that the current version is better than before. The climate remote control may have become prettier, but hardly more convenient. The buttons of turning on the emergency and heating of the glass have significantly reduced.
 
And in the versions of the GIA and GIA-X, the combination of aluminum steering spokes, the wooden trim of the console and the radio in the black glossy case looks completely ridiculous. Only an adjustable heating of seats with bright light indicators of intensity can be safely recognized as a positive change in comparison with the previous unregulated heating.
 
But the improvement of the quality of finishing materials unequivocally benefited Mondeo. The front racks of the body received villous pads instead of plastic, and the upper part of the doors upholstery became soft. Thanks to this, the salon is perceived more expensive.

A very good bagel with a leather rim and a massive hub, but the gearbox lever, in my opinion, was better on a prerestyled machine. The readability of the devices is great, the pedal node with a sufficient distance between the pedals will not cause problems for people with a large size of shoes. I would especially like to note the increased external mirrors: in the previous small fragments, little could be seen. True, visibility through an intra -junction mirror, as in most medium -sized sedans, Nevazhnetskaya. In close parking lots, Mondeo needs parking sensors. However, as a factory option, it is quite expensive 500 euros. It will be cheaper to install parking sensors at the dealer.

Unfortunately, the trunk is not locked. In addition, the designers saved on matches and did not provide a handle on the internal upholstery of the trunk cover. Accordingly, when closing the lid, you have to take on its dirty outer part.
 
The hatchback visually looks almost like a sedan and initially has a trunk of the same volume of half a cub. But it is used much more effective. Without even folding the sofa, through the huge fifth door you can load a very voluminous luggage. If it does not fit in height under the shelf, the latter can simply be removed. Well, when the sofa is transformed, the pillow rises first, and the back lies on the vacant place. Unlike the sedan, where the sofa is folded by a sandwich, the loading platform is completely flat. Therefore, the hatchback definitely costs the extra 500 euros compared to the sedan.

As a result, you yourself do not notice how to start and start going actively. At the same time, Mondeo manages not to be intrusive. The engine reacts so vigorously to the gas pedal, and the transfers switch so clearly that the hand each time stretches behind the lever of the box.
 
Another reason to go to Mondeo is an actively perfect chassis. The car confidently holds the high -speed line, as if the circul has draws a trajectory on the arc of any curvature, and it puts it once again to rebuild from the row in a row or to quickly go through another turn. No, Mondeo does not provoke the driver to unjustified aggression. It just belongs to that rare breed of cars that are able to enjoy not only from moving from point A to point B, but also from the control process itself. Maybe sacrifice in sled qualities, as is often the case, comfortable? Objectively, Mondeo can be reproached for an engine that is too annoying after 3,000 revolutions. But his noise becomes noticeable only against the background of good isolation from other extraneous noise. And, again, it does not reach frank discomfort. The suspension is somewhat harsh on small irregularities. But he holds strong blows well and does not allow the body to swing at speed. Therefore, in general, Mondeo can be recognized as quite comfortable on the go by a car.

The road to a country house is far from always a billiard table, and in winter, even in large cities, the streets are poorly cleaned. Therefore, in our conditions, the car should not be completely parquet.
 
During measurements of the road clearance, the unloaded Mondeo found 160 mm under the lower point with the front subframe. With such a body planting on broken roads, you can feel quite confident. The only problem is not covered from below the engine compartment: there is a risk not only to break through the engine tray, but also not to find a motor under a layer of dirt. Mondeo surprisingly quickly devotes an engineering space. However, most dealers offer protection for a fee.
  
Operation, service
When choosing a car, not only its price plays important, but also the conditions and cost of after -sales maintenance. Here Ford has something to interest the buyer. The warranty is 2 years without mileage restriction. However, according to the Ford-Service Contract for the surcharge, it can be extended to 3 years and 100,000 km (480 euros), or up to 4 years and 125,000 km (1150 euros). Moreover, this will not be a dealer guarantee (which the dealer can promise, but not to perform), namely the factory.
 
For Mondeo, the frequency of the conduct is determined by 20,000 km. In our conditions, this is the maximum permissible interval that allows you to maintain the car in good condition. It turns out that the average owner will visit the service only once a year. Moreover, for all dealers, unified very moderate prices for planned TOs are installed. The standard costs 75 euros, and an expanded one, which is held every 60,000 km, 162 euros.
 
It is also important that the owner of Mondeo can receive proprietary technical assistance not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Ford dealer network today is perhaps the most branched among foreign automakers.
