The cost of operating editorial machines is published regularly. Let's try to compare them. A good cut of the Russian automobile community-participants of the first marathon 60 hours driving (ZR, 2005, No. 10), market bestsellers: Ford Focus, Reno-Logan and Lada Kalina. Determining rubles by kilometers, we get a certain objective coefficient. The result is unexpected: the price of 1 km on Kalina is 3.24 rubles, which is noticeably higher than that of competitors! It is cheaper to ride on a focus - 2.96 rubles, and Logan showed himself the most economical - 2.69 rubles.
Alas, one of the main arguments cited by the defenders of domestic equipment - cheap spare parts and maintenance - turned out to be insolvent. Thanks to the high quality of components and assemblies, Russified foreigners easily beat Lada on her own field. The main reason is the constant breakdowns of viburnum, small and not very. Some large nodes - for example, the front shock absorbers, the steering wheel amplifier and the clutch, not to mention the steering tips, have already been changed on our viburnum, and the cost of service is quite comparable to imported services. But Ford and Renault do not break and are still content with regulatory work, the prices of which now do not seem sky -high.
And now we will change tactics. Where are we starting to lay out blood? That's right, in the car dealership. The low price of domestic machines is a constant argument of their apologists. Let's try to compare costs with the cost of cars, because they were bought at the same time.
So, we add the price of a new car to operation costs. The alignment has changed markedly: the high price pushed the Ford to the last place. More than 600 thousand rubles. Against 444 and 433 thousand among opponents is a tangible difference. This ratio has not changed after recalculation by the formula for ruble for mileage. Given the initial price, a kilometer on a focus cost 10.26 rubles. Bulware, but quite expected. But the fact that Kalina demanded 7.41 rubles/km against 6.67 rubles/km of Logan, to a certain extent - a surprise.
Alas, the postulate of the cheapness of our cars will be refuted. But on our viburnum there is no expensive additional equipment. The main items of expenses for it are gasoline, maintenance and repair. But Ford can boast of a very expensive option - the installation of the towbar cost, nearly 32 thousand rubles!
Today, many foreign cars are ready to compete with the cost of operation. But the matter is not only in money. Unscheduled repairs are always unforeseen expenses of time, effort, nerves. However, these are partly emotional indicators. But we agreed not to take into account such

With a run of 60 thousand km, we could sell our viburnum for about 200 thousand rubles, Logan - for 260 thousand rubles, and the focus for almost 375 thousand (prices based on the analysis of the secondary market). If you subtract the money returned from the total cost, you get the full cost of each kilometer that the car has passed for the first part of life.
