The current Fiesta is the first, bold and unexpectedly organic embodiment of the philosophy of corporate kinetic design (visual incarnation of energy in motion) in the exterior and interior of the V-class car. It from the muzzle to the tail is not much different from the impressive and original conceptual Verve, shown in Frankfurt in 2007. Only an inverted trapezoid of the radiator grill was reduced, which nevertheless remained large, branded, with a large blue Ford Oval emblem. It is framed by elements of a dynamic front with tense muscle hogs. No less expressive is emphasized by the large, with the eastern cut of the eye of the model, rapidly leaving the headlights, supporting the embossed hood resembling a sink of sea mollusk.
 
The branded components of Ford Genetics are striking well -defined extensors of wheel arches. Above them, a waist line vigorously rising to the highly located rear lights, which allowed to maintain a wedge -shaped appearance that delighted the audience in the Verve concept. Deep stamping of the side panels emphasizes the swiftness and dynamism of the model. A-standing, as it were, rests on the center of the front wheel, visually shortening the overhang, and together with a heavily tilted panoramic windshield gives the model to sports, like side windows that form a bent profile of stretched onions, another important element of kinetic design.
 
Expressive is the back of the model. Rounded rear window, a low roof cut line turning into a small spoiler, and highly located spectacular rear lights with cellular decoration in the corners of the body, all these elements of kinetic design make the feed a very recognizable aspect of the new Fiesta look.
 
No less original and stylish interior of the cozy and hospitable salon of the model. Its designers were inspired by ideas that are used in the decoration of consumer electronics items. Sitting on the driver’s seat, you notice with pleasant surprise that the controls of the car systems and electronic devices, all these buttons and toggle switches with familiar symbols taken from mobile communications devices are composed according to the logic of a modern cell phone (the central panel looks like a panel of a large mobile phone habitually And convenient!). And all these pleasant opportunities fade in comparison with the cunning places for storing things, which are simply many. Designers and components made maximum efforts in order to improve the interior space for the driver, passengers and baggage in this small car, retaining the previous external sizes of the model.
 
The new Fiesta is still offered with four 16-valve Duratec gasoline engines (three already known 1.25 and 1.4 liter engines with a capacity of 60, 82 and 96 hp and the new Duratec Ti-VCT engine with a capacity of 120 L.S.), plus two diesels Duratorq TDCI with a volume of 1.4 liters (68 hp) and 1.6 l (90 hp). All engines comply with the requirements of the Euro-4 standard. A 4-speed automatic transmission and a 5-speed mechanical KP are offered. The new Duratec Ti-VCT with two independent systems for changing the phase distribution in the series is installed only on the Titanium and Sport versions and ensures its acceleration to a hundred in 9.9 seconds.
 
Now about how it rode on the new Fiesta. At first, my partner and I tested the top version of Titanium, painted in a cheerfully green metallic of the color of an squeezed lime. Under the hood, the new 120-horsepower Duratec Ti-VCT. Convenient leather seats with good support for the lower back. All control devices are located, as they say, at hand, except, perhaps, a unit with buttons to control the electric windows in the driver's armrest. Touched. The roads are narrow, mountain, winding, with rather steep climbs and descents, with many closed turns, often more than 90 degrees, the very place for a test drive.
 
The first impression of the car could accelerate and make -up! But the fault is rather an electronic throttle than the engine. It is tuned in such a way as to respond differently depending on the speed of pressing the gas pedal. Quickly and sharply pressing it seems to be a sporting response, gently crushing you gain speed very smoothly.
 
The second surprise is the work of the EPAS steering electrolyword system, which, as it were, concealed the information content of the steering wheel. The system significantly reduces fuel consumption, as it works only when an increase in the power on the steering wheel is required, as well as depending on the speed: it facilitates the rotation of the steering wheel during parking and provides accurate maneuvering at high speeds. EPAS also facilitates driving by compensating the car to the side due to the inclination of the roadway, constantly, but imperceptibly acting on the steering wheel.
 
So on all the steep turns, descents and lifts, the machine showed the accuracy of the steering, and the improved electronic program for increasing the stability of ESP quite provided sports cheese characteristics. The machine stably kept the road at all speeds that the road allowed (short accelerations to 140 km/h), confidently fit into high-speed turns, did not cause any complaints and brakes that worked in enhanced mode.
 
The black three -door hatchback Fiesta Sport liked more, primarily due to good dynamic characteristics. A low, sporting configured suspension made it possible to use 120 horses more efficiently. In any case, the car quite briskly spoke to the gas pedal and an active driving manner. Yes, and in the direct section of the Rimsin motorway, it easily jumped at 160 km/h with a large supply of power and the stroke of the gas pedal. With the same accurate controllability and reliable grip with road, without vibration, wind noise and a feeling of flying.
 
About other nuances. Ford of Europe specialists thought out safety issues well: in addition to a large set of pillows and curtains, including a pillow that protects the driver’s knees, 55% of the body elements are made of high -strength and ultra -resistant steel and alloys. The model of the model is 10% better resistant to twist.
 
The front line, including the hood, is thought out from the point of view of the protection of a pedestrian. Option for beginners: the model is equipped with a system for preventing engine stopping during parking and touching.
