But if two of the three giants - General Motors and Chrysler - hoping, it seems, only for billions of state subsidies, Ford decided to get out of the crisis on their own. And it is amazing how concise the new Fiesta fits into the plan of saving the company.
This is not just a new generation of one of the most popular models in Europe. This is a milestone in the activities of the company, whose management considers Fiesta the most important project since the creation of the T. European Ford model for the first time created a product intended not only for Europeans, but also for buyers on other continents - in Asia, South Africa and North America. Special accents - on the fast -growing market of China and changing priorities from large jeeps to small cars of the US market. And the Fords had to make such a car to make an equally worthy impression on future diverse owners. It is important that economy, environmental friendliness, and low cost are important. But its appearance was the priority in the development of the new Fiesta.
Before starting work, designers studied the experience of not only other automobile brands, but also companies in the production of electronics and jewelry to determine the same product in demand by customers in different countries. The design reaction was checked at the Verve concept frame, which was immediately created taking into account the requirements of serial production. That is why Fiesta is so similar to its original idea. At the same time, the machine is fulfilled in full compliance with the principles of kinetic design.
The salon, like the appearance, was also subjected to global processing or even more likely rethinking. Since young people wrote down the potential buyers of the car, during work, first of all, their habits and preferences were taken into account. For example, the upper part of the central console is made in such a way that anyone who actively uses a mobile phone would immediately intuitively understand where and why it is necessary to press. In addition, it is the phone today that is one of the most global products that people use anywhere in the world. But to the steering wheel will have to get a little to get down, it not only looks very futuristic, but also gives the impression of the helm of a movie machine from the film about a fantastic future to the touch. The broken form of the tachometer and speedometer only strengthen this impression.
But in general, the new Fiesta has become much more ergonomic than its predecessor. Finally, convenient holders for water bottles and new containers for all kinds of things appeared here. Of course, marketers have the right to believe that everyone wants to have a stylish car, but the previous generation was very popular outwardly Fiesta. Because its main advantage was amazing controllability. And it would be a shame if the car had lost all its potential behind the outer chic. To refute our fears, we chose a Sport series for the Fiesta test drive, on which a more powerful 1.6 engine is installed than before it was used on Fiesta. It's about the new 120-horsepower Duratec Ti-VCT, which disperses Fiesta Sport to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds. Previously, the most powerful Fiesta (Fiesta St, we do not take into account here) was weaker by 20 liters. With. And these twenty forces were not that there was not enough before, it was just that it was very useful to have them in stock. Add to this a lower sports suspension that uses increased power as much as possible and retains an excellent dynamic response, and you can no longer worry for the confused potential of the car.
Despite the fact that from Fiesta they make a product that should be moralized to everyone, it will still have fundamental differences depending on the country in which it will be sold. And most importantly, what it will be noticeable in is dynamic settings. In Europe, they love clear handling, in Asia they prefer riding comfort, it will have to be reckoned with.
Even more diversity will be observed in the number of Fiesta versions - in addition to the usual Ambiente, Trend and Ghia, the already mentioned Sport, as well as Titanium, appeared. The possibilities of completing the completion of adult options such as the USB connector, xenon headlights, cruise control, access to the Keyless key, and the engine starts with the Ford Power button.
But in some countries, such as, for example, in America, buyers in January 2009 generally heard about such a car as Ford Fiesta, despite 32 years of glorious history and 12 million copies sold (not in America). Now, the company is reviewing a model range on a global scale, at the global marketing, sales and service department, the new leader is the forty -year -old great -great -grandson Henry Ford Elena Ford. And if Henry Ford made the first mass machine in the world from the model, who knows, maybe under the sensitive leadership of Elena Ford Fiesta will become no less mass - no longer in a European, but on a global scale.
