Fiat Croma test drive since 2005 sedan
A rich bride
Fiat has not built large models since 1994, when the previous Kroma retired. The current attempt to win the hearts of fans of spacious, richly finished cars is unusual: Kroma is made only with the wagon body. From the very first minutes I feel in a spacious salon at home. To the best, a large chair with a full -fledged long pillow is convenient. The materials of the instrument panel are solid, soft, even wooden details look quite organic here. Especially in combination with a large display, a separate climate installation, a cruise control in such an interior, and on an expensive leather steering wheel, the emblem Fiat looks somehow unusual.
On the actions of the steering wheel, at least in standard, city modes, the car reacts quickly and accurately. MANEARINARY in narrow alleys and close parking lots is easy. I was pleased that at higher speeds a huge station wagon clearly and obediently follows where you are directing it.
By the way, what is acceleration? No, it is quite possible to start dynamically, only you need to press the pedal literally to the floor. But then, in the second gear, the car rides just hold. Suspicion crept, but the brakes were distracted. They didn’t like them: not only is the free pedal’s free stroke, the worker is some kind of loose. You can’t give it without the expected effect and suddenly the car finally stops, indecently pecking your nose.
But he truly went over about fifteen minutes later, when the photographer finally began to unfold his music, and I, familiar with the car closer, became convinced: under the hood of a diesel! I respected Krom even more: this is noise insulation! It is almost impossible to determine from the salon what kind of unit under the hood is almost impossible, except for the reaction to the gas pedal. With such a diesel, a six-speed box with a convenient lever-yoostik is an excess, at least in the city. Three programs are enough here. But in distant travels, fuel consumption will probably be close to the declared company 4.9 l/100 km.
And why in addition, it is a place. A passenger sits behind a medium-sized driver, as in a business class sedan. Plus, not at all sedated spaciousness overhead. The trunk is large, draws and niches are enough for the whole family.
The first cars have just appeared in European salons. So the Italian is still a bride. Rich, economic, with requests in Latvia, where prices are usually slightly lower than in Russia, Fiat with a 150-horsepower 1.9-liter diesel engine costs 31,680 euros ($ 38 thousand). Cook wallets, grooms!
A huge wagon, trimmed and equipped as a business class sedan, an interesting, but very expensive offer.
