But what about Citroen DS4? How justified is its price and is it very different from the usual C4?
Let's start with the design. In the appearance of the DS4, the connection with the usual ceshka is unmistakably visible. Here are the same chrome lines of double chevrons and the formidable look of the front optics, similar forms of the rear bumper and lamps, pumped up the reliefs of muscles on the sidewalls. But at the same time, DS4 and C4 have no common body panel!
If the C4 is simply cute, then his glamorous brother DS seemed to leave the beauty salon after all kinds of peeling and suspenders. Stylish boomerangs of LED running lights appeared in the front bumper, the radiator grille turned into a single ensemble, stamping parallel to the wheel arches on the hind wings, and the rear doors were hidden in racks in the manner of Alfa Romeo. Despite the fact that, upon reaching 6,000 rpm, the electronic tachometer scale becomes red, its readability is not the best, and it is more convenient to monitor the speed from the digital speedometer, which can be displayed on the display in the center of his analog brother.
The interior is good. For an additional fee, the front panel and doors sheathing will be lined with velvet skin. For those who are not ready to spend 160 thousand rubles on decor, there are a lot of budget decoration options.
Even if a driver of medium height, then he can sit behind himself almost without a reserve. Places in the back row at the end. It does not differ in the width and the opening of the rear door, and the handle hidden in the racks looks, of course, stylish, but using them is inconvenient. The front seats have a good profile and lateral support. But there is no lack of traction at overtaking, and the gearbox lever pleases with small moves and good selectivity.
The combination of a 150-horsepower engine and a 6-speed Aisin machine is far from the first time. This tandem has already declared himself at the Peugeot 308, 508 and the latest 408. Its main advantages are good, almost diesel traction from 1400 rpm, which goes into assertive acceleration at medium -speeds. The automatic transmission is perfectly adapted to the work of the power unit and knows in advance what to do next.
It is convenient to control the acceleration, you rejoice at the smoothness of the machine gun in trials, and on the highway you do not feel flawed due to a lack of power supply during overtaking. There is only one complaint: the gas pedal is too sensitive at the beginning of the course, which is why it is easy to provoke a slip. Thanks to the coordinated operation of the motor and automatic transmission, when accelerating to 100 km/h, the 150-horsepower Citroen DS4 is inferior to a top machine with two hundred horses only 1.2 seconds, which, you see, in the life of an average motorist.
Citroen DS4 is well. To achieve this with a 170-mm clearance, in the chassis of the usual C4, Citroen engineers introduced other springs, shock absorbers and reptile stabilizers. As often happens in such cases, the car is very good on a flat road, but harsh on the pits.

To have such a car, you need to, at least, compromise with flaws in practicality like the absent rear electric windows and a considerable price. That is why not everyone is ready to possess them, and the entire DS line was conceived to stand out from the total mass and not be for everyone. And Citroen DS4 is doing this task.
