CHEVROLET AVEO (Kalos) Sedan West Drive Sedan

The most important in Europe

It seems recognizable from almost any angle. Only the profile gives a novelty to the already familiar Chevrolet-Aveo. The three -door modification was appreciated by Mikhail Gzovsky. Photo by the author.
The winding road along which Chevrolet Epica rushes cuts through overgrown with tall grass fields. The driver now and then glances in the mirror: when, finally, it will be possible to drop this impudent Aveo from the tail? On straight lines, twice as a more powerful sedan bursts forward, but after each turn, the baby’s headlights are shown due to the grass of only a few dozen meters. And it is not as simple as you might think!
The three -door Aveo precisely repeats the five -door relative (ZR, 2008 No. 4), but it looks more interesting. For the driver at the time of planting, the three -door body is the unconditional blessing of the doorway of the door of huge. Given the height of the body, from the second time you fall into the seat unmistakably. But to some nuances you will have to get used to: for example, then stretching to the central rack behind the belt, and applying the neighboring door of the parking neighbor is easier.
You can’t envy passengers as usual in three -door, but only in comparison with many -day brothers. The mechanism of folding the front seat is thought out well: to throw back the back and return the chair to its original position after planting is not difficult in one movement. And what are the windows here! You move the glass to the side and get fresh air, but without wind in the face. Surprisingly, even at high speed, this design practically does not add aerodynamic noise.
For its volume, a 1.2-liter engine gives out solid 84 hp. And in combination with a rather short row, the gearbox allows you to confidently stay in the stream. Of course, under loading and uphill, the car gets down, makes the gas pedal on overtaking and actively work as a long -flowing lever of the box. But this is excusable to the car that consumes less than 5 liters of gasoline in the city, and in traffic jams consuming a maximum of 8 liters. By the way, the economy of the 1.2-liter engine was improved by 14%.
Probably, in Russia, a 1.4-liter 101-horsepower engine will be more popular, especially in combination with a 4-speed automatic. Such a modification contrary to excess forces is not perceived more athletic, rather more harmonious. The work of the transmission is leisurely, but logical and soft, and soon you cease to notice at all.
Well, the chassis of the baby is worked out for fame. Aveo boldly flies into a turn and instantly brings the wheels under the influence of a hydraulic amplifier, transmitting an understandable reactive force to the steering wheel. I also liked the energy intensity of dense pendants, not grazing even before railway crossings and not motionless riders on the waves.
It seems that this path I was already driving once on another car. Exactly, as in Soviet cinema classics: there is a tree growing, and there is a man in a jacket. In Europe, different scales: distances are shorter, roads are already, and gasoline is more expensive. I have a passport of one of the Schengen countries, I would not even think about a golf class car. This is how many Europeans think. Aveo is the most important model in a series of vehicles of the Chevrolet Europe unit, says Betty Moskato, director of the company brand and marketing Chevrolet Europe. In 2007, over 111,000 buyers chose it throughout Europe.
In Russia, the car is already sold at a price of 311,200 rubles, until the end of the year the company plans to sell 1600 three -door AWOOs. I wonder how the most important European chevrolet will be met with us?
Chevrolet Aveo in a three -door version is perfect for young motorists and formed egoists.
