One authoritative American magazine recognized Chery Kimo quite suitable for mass use. Moreover, there was absolutely everything in this car, there was absolutely everything in this car, as they say that the American is good, then Russian death.
We admit: outwardly, the car did not impress us much. And this despite the fact that the Kimo design was given to one of the famous Italian body ateliers. The car in general could have been called any, if not for the anterior and back optics. Only she draws out the appearance of a car from the faceless mass of the like. Which, however, is understandable. It’s difficult to come up with something new today, especially when it comes to a bicobrobular body of an urban small-scale. So designers are out of the headlights and the ability to properly arrange stamping or molding. Salon is completely different. The ability to plant the future owner on the interior has always been valued. In the end, we spend most of the time not outside the car, but inside, which means that, as a rule, most of the forces and means of designers are given. Apparently, understanding this perfectly, the Chinese, together with the Italians, attached all efforts to develop the interior.
Non -actual outside, Kimo turned out to be quite interesting inside. In any case, at the first moment you see only positive everywhere. A cheerful upholstery of seats, a pleasant door upholstery with elements remotely reminiscent of matte aluminum. A simple, but at the same time, a stylish central console visually harmonizes with a beard of the tunnel. And even the knob of the gear handle has its own unique charm. But most of all, of course, the instrument shield is impressive. Spectacular wells give the whole interior even some exclusivity. However, in fairness, we note that the information is not read very well. It hurts a lot on all scales of separating points and dashes, plus the numbers themselves seem vague. The situation becomes a little better only when the dimensions are turned on. Blue backlight, although slightly, but still makes the image more contrasting.
Now as for the place. Inside, no matter how strange it seemed strange with minor external dimensions, Kimo is quite spacious in Kimo. Moreover, it is quite comfortable to be located both in front and behind. True, only under one condition: the number of passengers should not exceed three people. It is quite acceptable for the car and the trunk. For a trip to the supermarket, its volume is quite sufficient. The only upset that the opening angle of the fifth door is too small, which makes it traumatic.
You cannot recognize quite convenient and the lever of the parking brake. This is not even a lever, but rather a huge key with a button on the back. It looks, of course, very unusual, and using it is not very convenient. In any case, in a bend, in order to correct the trajectory, it will be difficult to support the handle in a dose manner. However, if we recall that both ABS and EBD are equipped in the Kimo database, then there should be no talk of any adjustment of the trajectory.
In general, even some representatives of a higher class can envy the list of basic equipment of KIMO. The car has everything from alloy wheels and ending with parking sensors. But the choice of power units is small. Having paraphrased Henry Ford, we can say that Chery is ready to offer any of the engines for your Kimo, provided that you choose a 1.3 -lit -fifth capacity of 82 hp. This unit is the fruit of the joint activity of the Austrian company AVL and CHERI. We will not hide, at first we were not very delighted with his capabilities. Kimo was reluctant to touch and accelerated, but subsequently, having adapted to the fact that the peak of torque is achieved only after 3800 revolutions, we were still able to achieve quite tolerable dynamic characteristics. The motor votes, of course, at such revolutions, but also pulls well. In general, it will fit for the city. Although Kimo is not bad on the highway. On the highway up to 120 km/h, he feels confident enough. So what did our American colleagues Kimo attracted? Most likely, at a price. Indeed, in the domestic market, it is only 7,000, while our dealers estimated it already at $ 12,500. And this is already completely different money and, as a result, completely different emotions.

Our opinion
We think that Chery Kimo will find its buyer in Russia. Moreover, in terms of the ratio of the price of the option, it takes a fairly high position in our rating of Chinese cars. Indeed, in equipment, there is actually everything. One can only hope that its quality is appropriate. However, it will be possible to judge this only in a year.
