The outgoing year was rich in sensation. Following the revolutionary Jaguar F-Type, Range Rover and Opel Adam, another cool Cadillac car entered the market, and those that the brand had not had for a long time.

Cadillac ATS really amazes primarily how it is configured, how it goes, how it solves various transport and tactical tasks. The model is absolutely prepared for the market. She already has everything that should have a successful car today, including various types of drives, boxes, engines, as well as mountains of options. Naturally, first of all, I wanted to try a car with a mechanical box (and the most running engine of a turbocharged 2.0 liter), since it is seen that a manual transmission is used on an American machine. The mission of such a car is naturally European. The motor turned out to be the most powerful in its size: 276 l. With. and 353 Nm of torque already at 1700 revolutions. As a result, up to a hundred car accelerates in 6 seconds. The machine holds the road tenaciously and predictably includes any turns. And the greater the speed, the better it costs on the road a sure sign of a correctly configured car. On the German autobahn, where there is no speed limit, the speedometer showed the maximum 225 km/h, and the car was easy and exciting. On mountain serpentines, even at the limit of possible speeds, ATS is controlled no less predictable and accurately, without screening and disruptions. A two -liter turbo engine pulls in any gear; The mechanical box is short -flowing, with a clear fixation and correctly selected gear rates of all six steps allows you to use the entire potential of the car in each mode. But the course of the clutch pedal is excessively long. The placement of the handle itself also seemed uncomfortable: there is little space between it and the central box for things, and you have to press the elbow to the body.

The option with an automatic machine and all -wheel drive is even better: enjoying the machine here is no longer overshadowed by anything, the car is simply perfect, there is nothing to even complain about on purpose. The automatic machine paired with the engine works like a watch. And all -wheel drive perfectly holds the car on the bends and the roads of different levels. It turned out: it is able to throw up to 100% power per (!) Wheel. And with ordinary touching 80% back and 20% forward. Actually, if you buy, then such ATS.

What is the right one? Alas, its second fundamental (as planned by the creators) is part of the device: electron-computer support of the car with personalization, Cue technology. The system interface composed of icons by analogy with smartphones, the driver on the touch display activates touch. You bring your hand to the screen, and the picture changes, commands are executed. You can zoom in the image, bring it closer or highlight some of its area, leaf through, go back. Icons can be moved for ease of use. As you can see, cars are increasingly unified with the usual devices.

And here, alas, the developers were overdoed. Or did not bring the plan to the required condition. As a result, comical situations arose. In the car, he began to work the heating of the seats and smelled of fried, although they did not ask for this, it turned on in the face, although they ordered something else, suddenly everything was cut down, and the console, since it was also a cover of a hidden show, jumped upward, opening a black inside. To lower it quickly on the go was a problem, since the cover is closed not in the usual way, with the hand, but by pressing the corresponding place on it.

The developers made the sensory almost the entire surface of the central console, depicting smallly explaining icons on it. And you should not press on them, but somewhere nearby. At the same time, numerous oily fingerprints remain on the black glossy surface and on the screen itself, although they did not eat at the wheel and did not engage in the repair of the car. But the instrument panel and the devices themselves are beautiful and good from the best for today. True, zealous critics saw in them the resemblance to Opel's daughter. Do they not know that there is unification on the street?

To AK and navigation: it not only works with a lead, and can in 3D, but also speaks in an excellent, rich, correct literary Russian language. The girl leading you along the route in a beautiful voice may, for example, say: try to rebuild right away, you will soon need to turn on the adjacent road. Or: turn right and on your left hand is it not true, cute? I have not met this in any car.

But in general, such a sports car as ATS would have gone no more sensors and a red-hot, but classic buttons and keys, toggle switches and switches. And sound, rebuilt sound. At least in sport mode. And in sports, since they started talking about him, the suspension only changes on ATS, but I would like the steering wheel also.

As the main object for attacks and comparisons, Cadillac chose the German three and, above all, BMW and its third series. Comparative tests of overseas publications have already shown that the machine competes with them on equal terms, or even surpasses.
