True, there was no more logic in the act than in the song of the domestic pop singer, whose plate bought at the airport was swallowed by a newcomer's radio, from a needle, BMW Z4 M Roadster.
 
The in -line six relatives can spin up to 8000 rpm. Four fifth maximum torque is available at 2000 rpm. The so -called liter power is 106 hp. And for each of the 343 hp The engine accounts for only 4.1 kg of car mass.
In the city of Kadis, where it seems that they have long been accustomed to travelers - Columbus started to America exactly from here - they looked at us like visiting clowns. But this is not us, this car is like that.
Outwardly, Emka differs little from the usual Z4. You will not immediately notice that from below the knitting needles of the air intakes are tilted in the other direction. If you look from the side, then, of course, 18-inch wheels are noteworthy, the design of which was specially designed for Z4 M. A aerodynamic flaps that emphasize the width of the track, and, of course, chromewed, widely placed pairs of exhaust pipes, which has already become a tradition. The trunk is tiny, only 200 liters. That's right: if he was more and we forget it to failure with something heavy, the ideal for driving half the car’s weight was forgotten.
 
But we, in fact, do not see all this, because we are inside. There is even more special here. Sports seats M with such pillows that it seems as if you are sitting on the asphalt. Emense steering wheel and gearbox handle. The decoration of everything else may seem rude, but we must not forget that with an open top open, the interior of the Rodster becomes an exterior and therefore must steadfastly resist dust and other atmospheric phenomena. On the dashboard - a special tachometer with floating yellow and red zones showing permissible the speed of rotation depending on the momentary temperature of the engine oil. This is perhaps the only thing that can upset the impatient driver who wants 343 Bavarian forces to shoot him up to hundreds in 5 seconds directly from the parking lot.
 
Unlike a simple relatives, on the Z4 m, the steering mechanism is equipped not by an electric, but by a hydraulic amplifier, which with dynamic control allows you to rotate the wheel faster. Another old, proven thing - an ordinary six -speed mechanics, the lever includes transmission with spinger accuracy, and the driver of the Z4 M is responsible for the pedal on his own, and not as in the BMW M5 and M6, where the transmission is entrusted with an exclusively robotic SMG box.
Near the gearbox lever there is a SPORT button, which makes the accelerator pedal more sensitive - I pressed a little, and the throttle shifts open almost completely, while the dynamic functions of the engine control system go into a more sharp operation mode. In a city where every hundred meters is a traffic light, this system is clearly not needed. It was not very comfortable with her on uneven Spanish paths. When the class lands after the jump on the next wave of asphalt, the electronic brains are thinking for some fraction of a second, why the wheels have different adhesions with the road, plus the foot involuntarily presses on the gas-so that the relatives are ready to jump forward again, and know how to hold back the wheel.
 
A completely different matter is the smooth asphalt of the racing ring in the sherry. The stages of Formula 1 once passed here. The very first time, in 1986, Ayrton Sena won here - a hairpin named after him was equipped on the highway today. BMW M5 rode behind me. On straight, the 507-horsepower monster literally sat on my tail and a little lagging behind only in a bend. I don’t know who was driving there, but the driver was clearly drawn in full: before the turn he put the car sideways and entered the turn in side sliding, as if he were not driving around the ring, but participated in rally competitions. It didn’t even occur to me to turn off the system of dynamic stabilization. The low Spanish sky poured pouring rain. In the most acute turn, named after Michelin, it was worth only to twist the steering wheel or transfer the gas, how the rear wheels clearly tried to overtake the front axle, wagged food, but the electricity clearly placed the Roadster on the correct trajectory. This is a delay with which the DSC intervenes in the actions of the driver, has a special meaning - it is better to see what and when you made a mistake.
 
Although in fairness I must say that with the DSC turned off, the car still helps itself to stay on the asphalt. Instead of the function of dynamic monitoring of the DTC traction, which is at the disposal of the owners of ordinary Z4 relatives, EMKA is equipped with an adjustable blocked differential from M3, which gives the Rodster high stability and optimal craving primarily when accelerated from turns. DTC allows an increased slipping of the rear wheels only at a speed of up to 70 km/h, and the location of differential M allows not to think about this threshold of speed - when slipping, the wheel not clinging to the asphalt can even be completely blocked.
 
By the current beach season, all Z4 classes were restored. True, the eyes of the car remained sad. The only innovation is that the turns repeating in the lower part of the headlights changed color from yellow to white. The lower boundary of the rear lights has changed a bit, the line of which now repeats the shape of the spoiler's edge.
But the main thing is, of course, your own head. Behind one of the turning of the route on gravel stood a dispersed class, whose tester Ponuro was waiting for evacuation. Judging by the stirred stern, the car went backwards from the bend in advance, and so on to the concrete chipper. Nevertheless, the laws of physics can abolish either electronics, nor a hydraulic pump, or brake built into the differential. Z4 M is equipped with brakes, which were originally designed for an extreme BMW M3 CSL compartment - the braking distance of the relatives at a speed of 100 km/h is a little more than 30 meters!
Well, if you don’t have such a route at your side, but I want to try how it all works? You can do this. By clicking on the button, turn off the DSC, turn the steering wheel to the stop, give gas and throw the clutch - the machine will turn out with a wolf even on dry asphalt. Someone will say childishness. But the class as a type of car was invented just for this. No wonder the front passenger seat is equipped with an ISOFIX mounting system for installing a children's armchair so that the owner can train the vestibular apparatus of his offspring from infants.
 
By the way, the potential buyer of the BMW Z4 M Roadster Marquetologists of the Bavarian company imagine about this: he is 40-45, and he is a little younger than the average client who buys the usual bmw roadster-these are not only more victorious, but also older: 44 years in Europe and 52 years in the USA. Rodster owners are sports, dynamic and prefer their individual style in everything. Stronging for freedom and independence, they prefer dynamics in their professional activities, in their hobbies and, of course, in driving a car ... that is, these are even greater scumbags than customers of ordinary Z4, who, according to the same marketers, why- then they like to jump with parachute and ski from almost vertical slopes ...
 
From ourselves we can add that these customers should live in countries with the corresponding climate. After all, on the day when we rolled along Cadiz without a roof, in Moscow it was minus twenty. The season of relatives is fleeting, and to use such a car among snowdrifts is still extreme. Better with a parachute!
