As for the bridles, they are really quite a lot of them in the new car. And most importantly - box! Fans of a simple handle in Munich said no categorical - BMW M5 is equipped with only SMG. To understand the logic of BMW AG's designers and marketers, it is very useful to look into the document where the portrait of a typical um-fifth buyer is drawn. Mainly a man, they are married, and, as a rule, they have two more cars in the family, on average they are 45 years old, which is somewhat less than that of the traditional buyers of the 5th series. As they say in the people, there are no money to forty money, consider, never will? But we read on: M5 is used by your owners every day, mainly for long business trips, 75 percent M5 are service cars ... So, in fact, everything has become in place. Purchase on official money relieves questions about the price. And the business lifestyle does not imply the presence of time to specifically get behind the steering wheel of the sports car, fasten with five-point belts, paint the poker and get kicks from hard suspension.
BMW M5 is a classic two in one: a sedan for business trips and, at will, racing car. Half an hour on fitness, two - to negotiations and then another half an hour on the racing.

The first is an increase in the working volume, but this is a large mass and dimensions: the V8 of the predecessor (also, by the word, five-liter volume) already barely placed under the hood of the business class sedan. The second path is compressors, or turbocharging, whose work, as you know, is conjugate with delays in the engine's reaction at the driver's desire. The third way is to increase the revolutions that are able to provide an optimal gear ratio in the box and thereby realize the maximum thrust. On this path and went. True, the engine M5 does not spin to fantastic 18 thousand rpm, like a Williams BMW motor, but he lives longer than one race.

As the BMW designers assure, seven steps allowed to reduce jumps and the moment, and the switching themselves now occur by 20 percent faster. In addition, the DriveLogic function gives the driver the ability to manage the character of these switches, adapting their speed to its own ride manner.
Full box. In automatic mode D, there are five degrees of switching - from a comfortable-smooth to a sports sharp. They are selected by the buttons on the central tunnel, and the indication of what kind of mode is selected, appears in the form of burning columns between the Speedometer and Tachometer scales. In the most comfortable embodiment, the clutch works softly, and the transmissions switch almost unnoticed. If you include the sporty option, but at the same time slowly, you will get tired of nodding from the jokes with which SMG transfers transmission. In sports mode, the driver of the driver has six degrees of switching speed. The transmissions can be changed by the handle of the gearbox or the petals behind the steering wheel. The engine immediately gains momentum, optimal for a sharp start. However, such a focus is not possible on each traffic light - the next inclusion of the Launch Control system will take place only after 4 km of way.
According to the Gentlemen Agreement with other automakers, the maximum rate of BMW M5 is limited to 250 km / h.
