Attention attracts an aluminum hood with a characteristic protrusion, an expressive front part with large air intakes, widely placed, powerful wheel arches, a combination of classic BMW cabriolet bodies with a dynamically elongated silhouette, straight shoulder line and a low back. For acceleration from the spot to 100 km / h, the new BMW M3 convertible spends only 5.3 s, the maximum speed of 250 km / h (limited to electronics), the average fuel consumption according to the European test cycle of 12.9 liters per 100 km.
 
The mechanical six-speed transmission is equipped with a built-in oil cooling system operating depending on temperature, and a two-disc clutch with an optimized inertial characteristic.
 
The MDRIVE system allows you to select the individual configuration settings for the engine operation, settings of the chassis and DSC system, as well as the option of the SERVOTRONIC hydraulic characteristic, corresponding to road conditions and individual driving style.
 
The original chassis includes special elements of rigidity in typical models M version with optimized components and characteristic of the M-series kinematics suspension providing exceptional dynamism. A characteristic feature of the new chassis is also forged aluminum levers and a highly efficient brake system with composite disks.
 
The optional electronic control system for EDC shock absorbers with three algorithms of work adaptively changes the shock absorbers settings, responding to changes in the state of the road surface and driving style. EDC constantly and independently of the selected mode provides adaptation to specific road conditions.
 
The retractable rigid three-section roof of the convertible is made of lightweight steel sheet. The automatic mechanism of folding and locking is already in the basic configuration equipped with a remote control. The folding time is only 22 s. Thanks to the large windows, a good circular review is provided even with the roof raised.
 
The full protection of the driver and passengers contributes to an exceptionally rigid body structure, front airbags and pillows for protecting the head and top of the body, three-point inertial safety belts for the driver and all passengers, pretensioners and belt tension limiters and the central electronic unit for the corresponding management situation Holding systems, including a coup protection with automatically extending safety arcs behind the rear seats, as well as bixenon double headlights supplied already in the basic configuration and adaptive rotary light as an option.
 
Convertible is equipped with two separate rear seats; An audio system of BMW Individual High End with a nine-channel amplifier and 16 highly efficient speakers as an option. With external car decoration, special coloring options are used.
