Riding in sliding (drift) - how independent discipline appeared in Japan, and many cars have been associated with Asian sportsars for drift. But the old BMW M3 is no worse - honed controllability, rear -wheel drive, small mass and lack of custody electronics allow you to prepare cars for competitions of even international level. For a full-fledged drift car, only power is not enough: after all, unlike Japanese boost lighters, it will not work to increase the engine's return on the engine one and a half times. The recipe for the BMW 3 E30 series sedan, originally equipped with a 2.5 -liter M50 engine, was found by accident.
The car was bought with an eye on the races in a straight line and for driving in a drift. The inexpensive, a used treshka, for the above reasons, approached perfectly, but only an elderly engine could not stand the tests and resigned.
Immediately there was a power unit from the first generation M5 about six cylinders and 286 horsepower. Is the motor compartment crowded? It’s not scary -in the St. Petersburg BMW Racing Club, they dealt with this, making a new subframe, the panel of the front and the hood. While it is metal, but the plan to install a composite. The engine setting was already carried out in the BMW -Service center on Baykov - after a small intervention, the power increased to 315 hp. The acceleration time from a place to 100 km/h decreased to 4.6-4.8 s. There they also brought the chassis and transmission, in which the main pair of 3.91 and differential with 25% lock appeared.
Its salon is not: for the sake of the minimum mass, they got rid of the rear sofa and upholstery. The driver’s bucket can be called sports without stretching, it is based on the plastic shell of the seat from the rally car, and the River logo flaunts on the upholstery. The athletes also helped with the installation of the safety frame, which increased the hardness of the body. So that the new motor does not suffer the fate of the predecessor, it needs an eye and an eye: additional devices appeared on the panel. They will become even more necessary later, when turbotkitis appears on the engine and power will increase to half a hundred horsepower.
M-classics
Modern EMCI of the third series Races by advanced wings, double muffler pipe and a noble bass know, I know that the new M3 E92 series is already flaunting the V8 engine - but this, you see, is still unusual. And it somehow forgot that from the moment the first Emka appeared in 1985 until 1992, four-cylinder engines with a volume of 2.3 liters and 2.5 liters were placed on it (on the versions of the sport of evolys). Nevertheless, we have a model of the E30 series with a 215-horsepower four, and even with an open body! Only 768 pieces were released charged convertibles - it is not surprising that the owner wanted to return his original appearance. It was not easy to do. The car was found in Moscow by accident: just before leaving for the capital to inspect the analogues, he looked at the web site of used cars-and saw the newly emerged announcement for the sale of Emka-Cabilet. The state of the unique was average, its restoration had to spend a lot of time and money. But now it remains only to bring a few details to mind, after which the car can be safely exposed even in a corporate museum.
The purity of the genre obliges to preserve the power, the suspension settings, and the typical light of headlights - which many tuners are ready to replace with xenon. There was a native gearbox with an inverted inclusion circuit: the traditional place is the first, the second - the first is the legacy of the Ring BMW of the 1980s. The capabilities of the power unit are now worthy, but the car is not driven into the tail and mane. They do not restore the classics for that!

And finally, the most modern and technically perfect car from the Trinity is the M3 E46 coupe. What, in your opinion, the capacity should have a car for every day? It turns out that not to everyone who purchased M3, 343 hp. It seemed to the owner of this tuning car that the car was not driving - there was not enough traction. So the engine acquired a Wortek compressor with water cooling, which at once added 140 hp, the moment increased to 450 N.M. The final system that lost neutralizers and a lightweight flywheel made their contribution to the engine performance. The standard clutch was unable to transmit such a stream of power - it was replaced by two -disc zachis. The transmission is a weak link in this wrapped car, gearbox and gearbox sometimes do not withstand the loads. The failed units regularly restore, but at the same time they are stubbornly looking for a different solution to the problem.
They seriously took up the brake system. Thanks to the front 8-piston calipers made of aluminum alloy and 4-piston rear (mechanisms from MD Components, Ferodo Rasing pads), the brake dynamics is no less impressive than overclocking. Slowing is so good that when braking the driver is worried not so much about the obstacle in front, but about who marks the stern. After all, many owners of powerful foreign cars want to sit on the tail of this M3, and its braking distance can be too short for them
A spiral adjustable KW suspension offers settings for a relatively comfortable city ride and an uncompromising racing. The latter is very relevant since the car deprived of electronic reins is now gaining many more official 250 km/h. How much - it is not known, did not conduct instrumental measurements. But on the highway on the fifth gear, the speedometer is removed to 290 km/h, on the sixth arrow rests on the limiter - 300 km/h. In order for the coupe to plunge into its true element - speed - a body kit is installed by Hamann. He not only ennobled his appearance, but also clearly improved the aerodynamics of a sports car.
This M3 is perhaps not an example of a reasonable sufficiency, but BMW erected to the degree of slogan: with pleasure at the wheel. Pleasure for every day, for weekdays and weekend. But each of the three emocks is a classic convertible, a drift car with an implanted engine and a powerful compartment -a horseman itself and as an example of a competent refinement with a high result.
