They stood silently in a row. They are white and black BMW 750LI sedans. On one of which the author of these lines was to perform a 150-kilometer voyage in the near Moscow Region. Why in the suburbs? Yes, because whatever the prime minister of the new seven has already taken place, the European presentation was held, and all the ahi and ohi were subsided about returning to the annals. Our task is to check the new Efficientdynamics (ED) system in the case, the name of which can be deciphered as follows: less fuel is greater than the dynamics. Wining sags and two -row highways are quite suitable for the test, which I would call an eco -pocket. Moreover, in addition to ED, it was necessary to test a bunch of any other systems.
And for me, I admit, and the body is VNOVA. When the Bavarians presented their updated flagship (E65/E66) eight years ago, many did not understand them. Including these lines. Compared to the previous brutal seven, the new (now old) looked somehow asexual, or what? The F01/F02 sedan (ordinary and elongated versions) hit, as they say, in the suit: having played in the unisex popular at the beginning of the century, BMW designers still took a step back, which in this case can be considered a step forward.

New style
The Bavarian flagship grew up, but outwardly it does not catch the eye. Maybe because the roof has become a little lower. Or because the base has grown by eight centimeters? Huge air intakes are returned to the nostalgic 90s, but everything else belongs to the 21st century.
By the way of the metal: aluminum was added in the back: this is a shock absorber and an aluminum roof, which is cast under pressure, plus multi -phase steel, plus hot molding. In total, the innovation accounts for up to 40% of the mass. Although this is strange: the total weight of the car increased slightly.
It will be possible to evaluate the filling only during a test drive, which is still a good hour. In the meantime, the introductory part: you have to know that the metal is hiding?
A lot has been done for safety. For pedestrians' safety. This is primarily a shock -absorbing hood, arranged in such a way that if the misfortune happened, the poor fellow will never burrow his head into the engine. Even when the 760th seven with the V12 engine appears in the fall, the head injuries will be avoided: when hitting the hood, 80 mm will shoot up.
By the way, about the engines. There are so far three -line six with direct fuel injection, V8 with double turbocharging (on all test machines), and a new diesel with a third -generation Common Rail system. If you look at the characteristics, it is easy to notice that the volume of engines has become smaller than on the previous gamut of seeds, and power and torque, on the contrary, have grown. So we have to test the 400-horsepower engine. In anticipation of the moment when the 544-horsepower V12 appears. Naturally, all engines meet Euro-5 standard, in diesel, in some parameters, and Euro-6.
The software of the electronic engine control unit has also changed: it is able to calculate thousands of combinations per second, providing one to three fuel injections for each compression phase for its better distribution and burning. The load on electronics increased so much that for protection against overheating it was arranged for a separate water cooling.
The box is a traditional machine, familiar in E70. But the new 760th will have a new 8-speed automatic transmission. True, the Old automatic control unit was still updated, due to which the gear shift time was reduced.
The suspension has changed somewhat: the front has become double -winging, and new elastic elements are on the back. The suspension remained multi -link, and the steering system provides a rotation of the rear wheels to an angle up to 3 degrees.

Everything's under control
Separately, you need to talk about electronic security systems. There are so many of them in a modern car that they interfere with each other. Now the ICM super system (Integrated Control Management) combined seven DCC, DSC-Sen, ACC, FDR, FDC and Ial systems at once. They say that this has reduced the velocity of the electronics reaction to freelance situations.
Well, the steering system allows you to reduce insufficient rotation during maneuver without reducing speed. And finally, Integral Active Steering Active steering. At low speeds, the steering wheel is sharper, which allows you to actively maneuver. At high speeds, the acuity decreases to avoid trouble when the steering wheel is too sharp. It is obliged to say that, according to the chief of auto -investigation, just Active Steering is the most meaningless and unsafe of all the latest and expensive systems.
Settings of shock absorbers allow you to select one of the four Normal, Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus driving options.
There is also a system for rebuilding, signaling the appearance of interference in the blind zone: the signal begins to flash on the mirror, and the steering wheel vibrates. The same system signals the loss of strip. There is, of course, parking sensors with a video camera. And another camera in the front left wing. If, say, you leave the yard, packed by cars beyond measure, it is difficult to make out a hollow of a car rushing along the main road, the camera will show, and it will tell you the truth that the system works, you must especially wash the limousine in the off -season, and every couple of hours Wipe the eye of the camera. Although, I think, the owner of the BMW will not have such a problem. More precisely, this is not his problem: after all, there is a personal driver.

What else to mention? .. A 75 gigabyte hard disk appeared in the bowels of the limousine, most of which are at the disposal of the navigation system. The computer is able to memorize the names of the ever-lost musical compositions and recognize them. And finally, he remembers the settings of the seats, which, by the way, can be recorded on a flash card (the nest is hidden in glove box).
A valve has appeared at the air pillow for air lingering: if the electronics decides that the pillow can damage the too low passenger (you never know, suddenly a teenager in the front seat?), The valve is piercing the excess gas, and the blow will be softer. And at the base of the safety belts, electromechanical pretendermen are hidden.

And finally, the system of satellite alarm is already built in Russia: it guarantees the return of the machine in 99% of cases (data from the manufacturer).

Let's hit the road!
The front stand turned out to be a low -skinned one tested by its own head. But you just get used to protect your head quickly. And the interior is a work of art: dark top, light bottom, wood and leather. The front panel again looks towards the driver, it was these changes that at one time caused the main complaints from fans of the brand.
The automatic machine selector returned to the tunnel, and Idrive's joystick moved to the passenger side. The main functions are now taken to separate buttons around the joystick. To the left of the ACP handle is a two -step control key. Standard position Normal, forward Sport, backfort. Here is the button to turn off the stabilization system.
Seats are the upper class: convenient and regulated in almost all planes.
The dashboard is analog, strict and clear. All data is projected on the windshield conveniently: at high speed, you do not need to be distracted from the road.
Behind, as always in BMW, it is convenient: you sit a little higher, in well -shaped niches. You have your own idrive, you have 11-inch monitors in the backs of the front seats beauty! But today we can’t sit at the back: each journalist has been provided with a separate car, a rather rare case on tests.
Well, you can go on the way. In the New Riga, from the dealership, to the turn to the Ilyinskoye Shosse, along it to the small concrete, along it to Pyatnitsky highway and back.
Run the engine with a button. The arrows came to life, but the salon is silent: the sound insulation is excellent. AKP selector Drive. Rect. I pressed the Parking mode: just a computer toy!
A couple more minutes you need to get used to the dimensions and I am already on the semi -empty Novorizhi highway. Gas on the floor and under the hood woke up 407 horses: acceleration to hundreds a little more than five seconds! Cautious: we were warned that the regional traffic police would not do. But nevertheless, he gave himself free rein on the highway, and almost missed the turn, entering it at higher speed than he planned. No problem! The steering system came to the rescue, and the maneuver did not go like clockwork, but like on rails!
It’s a pity, we yourself know which roads. And on a car 19-inch discs with low-profile rubber. So the pits are felt if not tactile, then acoustic. I turn on the Comfort mode, but I do not stand it for long: it is too soft for those who sit from behind. I switch to Normal again and only on concrete in Sport mode. A huge sedan was replaced as he had not been driving before, but now he just rushed forward. And in Sport Plus mode, the DTC system unexpectedly turned on: it seemed to it that I was losing control of the machine. Well, rightly let me control me! Especially with overtaking: on concrete, as always, full of trucks. And immediately a dozen brilliant sedans causes us increased interest on the highway.

Well: let's summarize?
The new flagship of BMW is an undoubted success: the sales seven has already overtaken a number of competitors. And this despite the substantial price from 4,200,000 rubles. And additional Navigation options, a night vision system, a projection of devices for windshields, etc. Increase the amount by another million.
However, the one who is accustomed to the comfort and quality of BMW is unlikely to stop this: after all, not just a car is purchased, but a lifestyle.
Yes, I almost forgot: what about Efficientdynamics? And probably nothing, having received some pleasure, I did not spent too much gasoline. And this is good
