Despite the fact that the coupe was created on the basis of the sedan of the 3rd series (the size of the wheelbase and the design of the chassis are exactly the same), the appearance of the compartment is fundamentally different. Nevertheless, not only and not so much the design and settings of a sports chassis allow you to compare 335i Coupe with supercars. This car has a miracle motor!

The secret of smooth and powerful operation of the motor in a combination of direct injection technology and turbocharged. Due to the direct injection, gasoline is optimally distributed and mixed with air in the combustion chamber, guaranteed to ignite at various positions of the throttle.
Two turbochargers of the Japanese brand Hitachi complement the injection and begin to escalate air into the cylinders from 1300 rpm. Thus, it is possible to avoid the notorious turboyam.
In fact, there is no other engine of this class of power on the market that would be as light and compact as the new BMW turbo engine. I met a similar motor only at the VW Touran 1.4 TSI. That engine also has two boosts. True, at low speeds in the Volkswagen Motor cylinders, the compressor creates additional pressure, and only then, at higher speeds, a turbocharger comes into business. But the strategy is the same: an easy and compact motor gives the maximum moment (240 nm) from 1,500 rpm.

Light motor is a huge plus for handling. At the wheel of 335i you feel like a whole with a car. The sensations are amazing! How did I miss the turns on the dull American highweacs. I rejoiced at every denouement like a dog who saw a stick or ball in the hands of the owner. There are not the slightest complaints to the settings of the steering and suspension. However, someone 335i Coupe may seem excessively susceptible to joints and petty irregularities in the asphalt. But with an increase in speed, the car ceases to be a hard compartment literally creeps on asphalt.
On this car it is impossible to drive a shift. Nevertheless, despite the aggressive starts and overtaking, the dashing passage of turns, the fuel consumption was surprisingly modest: about 13 liters per 100 km. A paradoxical combination: not angry, understandable in management, economical and practical (the volume of its trunk is an impressive 430 liter) a car and yet a real supercar.
In my opinion, the BMW 335i Coupe deserves this title, even despite the fact that it does not fit into the standards typical for supercars: acceleration up to 100 km/h faster than 4 s, speed of 300 km/h, the circle on the northern noorburgering loop is faster than 8 Min (335i passes through this route takes 15 C more). Nevertheless, 335i is a real supercar on emotional effects. He extends the concept of speed and is able to give the driver sensations close to ecstasy.
