Only 12 seconds and the roof of the new top -end Rotter Audi TT RS, bending down with the letter Su, disappeared in the trunk. With the advent of the Audi TT RS, many years of animation, in which 5 -cylinder brand engines were well completed. From 1977 to 1994, light compact engines helped four rings conquer victories on racing tracks, demonstrating excellent capacity and efficiency results. Only under the pressure of more modern V-shaped sixes did they go to peace suddenly. It seemed forever. But in Audi crossed themselves. Spit three times. And after 15 years they returned to the topic. Today, the aggregates bright in terms of characteristics and parameters are again ready to confirm their forgotten renome under the hood of sports cars from Ingolstadt. The mission for the conclusion of the five-cylinder was assigned to the new dazzling super-top model in the TT line.
To say that the Audi TT RS is just beautiful is not true. It is attractive at the first approximation, magnificent in the second and to scabies in the hands of the third. Like any other TT, in passing, but not without envy, the owner of some fresh family station wagon (a typical representative of the younger Middle, practical, has not yet been hopeless, has not yet managed to cope with his internal selfish Alter Ego). And there will be partly rights! External irritants that are distinguished by a novelty from the classic model, really, is barely enough on the fingers. But the uncompromising nature of these details of the exterior accurately indicates the temperament of the Rodster. An aggressive circular body kit, large air intakes in the front and pseudo-difs in the rear bumpers, a rigidly fixed anti-wing or an alternative-optical spoiler on the trunk cover, which automatically moves on 120 km/h and hides 80 km/h to all this touches to the portrait of His Majesty Drive! Behind each element of the body is the painstaking work of technical thought to improve aerodynamics, increase clamping force, increase the intensity of air cooling and TT RS stability at high speeds.
And the interior? As in any other TT, shrugging his shoulders, our skeptic will say. And there will be more rights than in the first case! In addition to a puffy 3 -spite steering wheel with a silver line, an extended information system with a boost pressure data, oil temperature and a racing timer to measure the circle of a circle on the track, and the widespread TT RS logos, nothing fundamentally new in the cabin appeared. And the quality of materials, the comfort and transparency of the control of on -board systems for Audi, are equally traditionally untouchable.
But the main feature of the model is that there was no more speed TT for all 11 years since the first sport cap in 1998. With a transversely located 2.5 -liter 5 -cylinder engine with a capacity of 340 liters. With. And a 6 -speed mechanics with clear and short moves of the lever, 1510 -kilogram relatives gaining a hundred in a fleeting 4.7 seconds. And its maximum speed with a removed limiter reaches 280 km/h. The turbine enters into business at the very bottom: 460 Newtonians are incurred by an avalanche at 1600 rpm, allowing the car a bullet to break away. Twisting is holding a car in the maximum tone up to 5300 min-1.
What is characteristic of the shutter -like pickup is by no means ruthless to sitting in the cabin. An informative, completely harsh gas pedal makes acceleration fast, but soft, even and intelligent, not imprinting the back of the head to the back of the chair. The supply of fuel is easy to dose and calmly, without tension, move at a normal urban pace. Moreover, for 100 km RS consumes only 9.5 liters of high -octane gasoline. And this is not a joke. Similar numbers were displayed on the on -board computer screen after a rather intense ride.
The accelerator reaction is aggravated after pressing the Sport button near the box lever, which is especially noticeable at high speed. Motor timbre also changes: the sound becomes more juicy and velvety. If the car is equipped with an optional Audi Magnetic Ride suspension, then the electronics also adapts shock absorbers to road conditions, helping to pass even more clearly, without exchanging for rolls and swinging.
However, even without a smart suspension, Audi TT RS handling is magnificent. The modest mass of the motor (183 kg) made it possible to improve the weight and, as a result, the capabilities of the car. Acute (2.9 turns from the stop to the stop) an informative steering wheel with variable effort is poured with a heaviness on a high -speed autobahn, making control more sensitive. And in the parking lot at the supermarket, the steering wheel can be rotated with one hand (though it is not very clear that TT RS with its orphan 250 liters of space in the trunk forgot there). Roadster without correction enters turns and, as along the rails, goes along the intended path. The demolition of all four wheels is easily caught by gas, without any steering, the sliding machine returns to the true path only by changing the degree of pressure to the accelerator. And the most cool Audi TT RS gives sensations of undivided power over itself, in any situation remaining absolutely controlled. And dominance is extremely pleasant!

Our opinion
Judging by the Audi TT RS, the return of five -cylinder engines to the sports camp of the Ingolstadt brand can be deservedly called triumphal. This attractive view of the car is perfectly controlled, shows exceptional dynamics, and, most interestingly, does not at all suffer from fuel bulimia.
