Audi R8 V10 test drive since 2008 compartment

V \u003d Vendetta

In general, it is clear who was going to take revenge on Audi. Most likely, friendly Lamborghini: Gallardo is produced on the market almost simultaneously with a charged eight. In principle, fans of fast driving on expensive cars were quite enough for the previous engine. But, as usual, not everyone.
The international test drive of the new R8 to the considerable joy of professionals took place on the famous private ACCARI ring, and the common-use races also brought positive emotions. This is the same Fun to Drive, which is customary to buy for good money. Although the Audi approach to sports, as you know, is fundamentally different from the brutal quail in Lambo, Porsche and Ferrari. The driver of the R8 should not feel in the skin of Schumacher, he must first feel in Audi, and this philosophy works. The engine is soundproof and does not interfere with a measured conversation, and overcoming the lying policemen does not provide for compression injuries of the spine. By driving a machine in the city, you can even forget that a ten -cylinder engine is sitting at the place of VIP. However, like a self -respecting VIP, he speaks only in the case and raises his voice exclusively in emergency situations. If Lamborghini Gallardo designers deliberately spent time and money that the driver would not forget for a minute that he was traveling in a sports car, then the opposite picture is observed with R8. If you want a calm Cruising - and it will be given to you.
R8 V10 has become the first serial Audi with a completely LED optics. Stylish and quite usable - the time of switching the headlights from his neighbor to distant in Spanish twilight did not cause complaints. Well, the cutting, as true, is also quite happy with the white light. It seems that the kidsan xenon is a thing of the past.
The wheels and the engine connects the notorious R-Tronic robot or a six-speed manual. As usual, no more than 10% of sales were taken to the pen, although not everything is so simple here. In the domestic plan, R-Tronic is a little annoying, forcing to hang on a seat belt when switching from the first to second gear, the robot does not like a sharp valve of fuel. But, according to the developers, it provides the so -called Racing Feeling. In part, this becomes clear on the highway in the high -speed zone - noise, biting and a good reaction to steering wheel petals. Although it seemed to us that it would be possible to adapt for the car and a box with two clutches. Well, at least for comfort, which is still in the first place. There is a suspicion that a heavier and massive box simply did not fit, leaving a place for the Quattro all-wheel drive system and saving a couple of kilograms.
But a manual transmission is a real Disneyland. The switching handle walks along aluminum guides, the programs switch tight and pleasant. And here is the effect of V10: acceleration in the fifth gear in the city - just spit. Mountain serpentine without any problems passes at the third with a constant speed of 100 km/h without a single screech of rubber. Severely loaded rear axle and Quattro set an excellent pace, which can not always be kept with a lighter or, say, purely rear -wheel drive machine. Alas, the only car with a handle from a test park killed the PR manager of the Hong Kong delegation, which was announced by elegant white smoke and a much less elegant smell of burning clutch discs upon the return of the girl.
Naturally, the Paddok of the racing club is the best garage for such technology. Despite the fact that on the R8 V10 you can comfortably drive on public roads, it is somehow strange to buy this car without the ability to go to the track.
The Americans have long and enthusiastically place preliminary orders on the R8 V10 in their dealerships, and it is about to enter our car. Well, who said that the Russians are harnessed for a long time?
