Looking at the Audi A4 AlloD test drive program, where the off-road riding point was, I grinned. Surely it will be a highway verified to a millimeter, only remotely resembling off -road. But it was worth calling for the territory of Offroadpark near Ingolstadt, skepticism immediately disappeared

If I had not seen with my own eyes, I would hardly have believed that the station wagon with a half -sports suspension and a plastic protection of the crankcase is capable of one finger. Having hung the wheels on the steep slopes, falling into the pits and with the roof, filling the car with dirt with deep puddles, we fearlessly went to the storm of off -road, albeit artificial, but as close as possible to the real one. Although I lied to fearlessly: at the beginning of the highway there was a fear of losing the thresholds or making ears on the next slope. But after a couple of obstacles, there was confidence that the Audi A4 Allroad Quattro everything is on the shoulder.
It is unlikely that the owner of such a car, being in his right mind, will put on the off -road even at half the fact that we went to Offoadpark. But he may be sure: if such a need arises, Ollroad will not fail. And although the novelty from Ingolstadt does not have any forced transmission locks, and the distribution of torque between the axes is controlled by the usual self -locking differential, the machine has a good off -road potential, which, including, increased to 180 mm with road clearance. And if our test car is not shod in highway tires, but in toothy tires, it could show more impressive patency results.
But the most important thing is that the Audi A4 Allroad Quattro is a station wagon in the broadest sense of the word. With the same ease with which this car is storming off -road, it is capable of ironing the left row of a car at a speed for two hundred, delighting the driver with dynamics, course stability and controllability, and passengers with a comfortable suspension and low noise in the cabin. And at the same time, Ollroad is only four hundred euros more than the usual all -wheel drive Audi A4 Avant!
In Germany, new prices start with 38,950 euros. So much is worth the basic version with a 2.0 TDI diesel engine (170 hp) and a 6 -speed manual transmission. In addition to the default ABS and ESP systems, 6 eirbegs and all-wheel drive systems, from full-time options such a machine will have 17-inch cast discs, rails, festivals, headlights, climate control, CD player and electric handbrake. The test versions were packed richer: there is a salon with leather/alcantara, a 3-zone climate, and an audio system Bang & Olufsen with a power of half a kilobatt, and adaptive xenon with LED stripes of dimensions, and radar cruise control
In addition to the 2.0-liter turbodiesel, offered only with the mechanics and equipped with the start-stop system, the ALLRODO QUATTRO AUDI A4 A4 TFSI (211 l.) And the 3.0 TDI turbodiesel (240 l. P.). For these units, you can order a 7-speed robotic KP S-Tronic (analogue of the Volkswagen DSG) with steering wheel petals. In combination with a high -tech transmission, these engines turn the car into a real sports car, providing acceleration to 100 km/h for 6.9 and 6.4 seconds with an average fuel consumption of 7.1 and 8.1 liters, respectively.
Golden mean
The Audi A6 Allroad QUATTRO shown at the beginning of 2000 became the first serial SUV of the brand. The highlight of this car was a pneumatic suspension that allows you to regulate the road clearance in the range from 142 to 208 mm, which significantly increased the off -road potential of the model. The clearance was set by the driver, but at the same time, for security purposes, as well as to improve controllability and reduce aerodynamic losses, electronics automatically pressed the car to the ground as speed was set. A similar suspension was also used in the second generation A6 Alload Quattro, which appeared in 2006. However, such bells and whistles are not cheap, so the more affordable Audi A4 Allroad QUATTRO uses a conventional spring suspension. When choosing a road clearance for this model, I had to look for a middle ground, which would allow the car’s good cross -country ability, but at the same time did not worsen its running qualities on high -speed tracks. As a result, a compromise solution for the Audi A4 Allroad Quattro was an additive of 37 mm to the Audi A4 Avant road clearance.

Our opinion
Rejoice at a high level of comfort and excellent running qualities on road roads, Audi’s novelty has the inclinations of this SUV. Given the insignificant price difference between the usual A4 Avant station wagon and an all -resistant A4 AlloDA QUATTRO, the latter model has every chance of becoming one of the Russian bestsellers.
