In the good old days, as we recall, gasoline was cheap, and the chocolate was sweeter, and Honda cars were known more extreme: these cars were like meat, communication with them turned on. But in recent years, something has happened to them: many of them tasted as fanned, too well-fried ...
 
Large Honda are especially carefully cooked: there is nothing surprising in this, large sedans and crossovers are in principle supposed to be soft and comfortable. On the other hand, cars such as Acura MDX (it was such a car that recently visited) are obliged to be at least a little sports from birth. Just because they were made by one famous company. How much this machine managed to get in touch with spirits her ancestors? And how much did this car take place as a SUV with a claim for solidity, image and comfort?
 
Approaching Acura, you fully realize that in front of you is a luxury vessel, which somehow does not have excessive energy. But still I want MDX to be something more than just a solid crossover. I would like to feel the breed characteristic of a Honda and even in a passenger place to feel how solid and firmly knocked down it is. I want liveliness (without fanaticism, of course). But at the first acquaintance with this machine, a wave of softness at first doused me at first: it is present both in the cabin and in the operation of the engine (the engine whispers in idle, even against the background of a noise of a noise for the city is not particularly audible), as well as in the aroma (climbing into the salon, you feel the pleasant smell of a new car).
 
Where there is no softness is in the form. Next to the strange and soft-bodied car of the former generation, the newcomer looks sharp, aggressive, fashionable and very harmonious (the old car had pronounced belly and double chin, it seemed to not at all wanted to hide her relationship with the Honda Odyssey mini-wing). MDX sample of 2008 seemed to be dressed in the same costume as his predecessor, but it is on the new product that these clothes he sits as it should (approximately the same effect can observe a fat man in the mirror, trying on old clothes after he seriously pumped up and lost excess weight).
 
Have you admired? In this case, we offer to climb inside. Here it immediately becomes clear that the MDX succeeded and in the area that, along with the running qualities, was always the skate of the company. We are talking about the development of the salon. Take at least they are amazing materials. They are pleasant to the touch and the touch (moreover and with light touching with your fingertips, and with a stronger touch experiencing the supple of materials). What can I say, even if the glove compartment is covered with velvet, and the seats are upholstered with delicate skin! I am happy about how all this is collected together: every detail that is it should be firmly standing in its place, does not move for any money, but everything that should move does it very clearly and verbally. The only thing that upset was the seats: the pillows are short. Some compensation for this tenaciousness of the seats themselves, as well as special rollers for the shoulders, which at first, although they impress fake, are still quite convenient (if they straighten their shoulders, as the owner of such a solid machine is supposed to be the owner of such a solid car, then they are perfectly falling on these additional sections).
 
Ergonomics are pleasing: the management of many secondary functions is entrusted to a neat, stylish and compact block on the torpedo. The most important thing is that almost any motorist who has managed to communicate with good foreign cars in his lifetime quickly and will immediately understand what button is responsible for what, in any case, until he manages music (which is very good, among other things, Sounds) and climate control. It is worth climbing into the on-board computer, as you have to study something (by the way, the sound of the sound of music equalizer, that is, is buried just in the computer). The main element of control of a two -part joystick, similar to the one used in BMW. The navigation on the menu is realized very well: the image of this joystick arises on the screen, prompting in which direction you need to move the already real device. Convenient: it is immediately clear where to move, there is no need to make trial shots to understand which direction the cursor will float. Nevertheless, one will have to get used to it: they have not yet come up with such systems that would not have to be studied before dashing, what is called without looking, starting to use them.
 
The driver has no extra reasons to be distracted from the road. And passengers have something to take themselves, especially if the machine is equipped with an optional multimedia system. However, to those who are behind, it is permissible to dig and study the capabilities of MDX equipment at least on the go. The efforts of the designers seemed to be mainly aimed at making the one who controls the machine well.
 
It remains only to understand how satisfied the driver will be when his attention switches from buttons and joysticks to the steering wheel and pedals. While I was driving as a passenger, I was not enthusiastic. The suspension felt harsh (Lincoln MKX and Nissan Murano is slightly softer) and it seemed that it allows a lot of unnecessary body movements (it should be noted that secondary vibrations, say, after digging forward on braking, the chassis successfully extinguishes). In general, after Integra, the infinite composure of which is felt even in a passenger place, MDX seemed to be audisticly, a SUV created by another company, but whose running qualities nevertheless participated in Honda.
 
But everything changes when you get behind the wheel. One has only to move, how almost instantly you feel that MDX allows you to be worn! The steering is very responsive, the car obeys the movements of the steering wheel almost instantly, as is appropriate for Honda. In general, controllability made a good impression: it blows into the limit, but this deviation is quite efficient and adequately extinguished using a branded all -wheel drive transmission. The brakes were a little disappointed: like many modern Honda, they are very sensitive and sharp, but so that in traffic it can easily be caught by the rear bumper to catch some sleepy motorist. Only at high speed do you feel for which the nature of the brake work has been started: they allow you to effectively and very accurately stop the heavy machine with a good course.
 
Clutch engine The box left an ambiguous impression. The motor, for nothing that its volume is 3.7 liters, is quite sluggishly pulling on the bottoms, and the reluctance of the box to switch to a reduced gear in such situations enhances the feeling of GM ... calm. If you sell the gas pedal properly, then the box still begins to move (still not very willingly) and the engine reveals its true disposition. As it turned out, this is a real Hondovsky engine that demonstrates all its capabilities at the top (already closer to the cutoff you feel a very cheerful pickup). Surprise is so surprise! True, the car sounds with intense acceleration is already painfully frenzied and viciously.
 
So can this car become the very locomotive, which at one time has become RX300 for Lexus and FX for Infiniti (in other words, can it become an impulse thanks to which Acura will officially come to our market)? It may very well be: MDX has a lot of positive qualities, and it seems that it seems that the luxury, characteristic of the RX300, and the combat disposal of the FX series came together. In any case, as Honda, the car very much took place. It would be stupid to exchange Civic Type R or S2000, but if you need a SUV and I want at least a part of the Honda combat, then the MDX is a very good choice. True, at a price of 2,080,000 rubles. Not many can afford such a choice.
