Convertibles are part of the Volkswagen line since the end of the 50s, when Karmann's Atelier presented Beetle with folding riding. His descendant, built on the basis of the Rabbit model, received his own unique name - Volkswagen Cabriolet (Volkswagen Convertible). In 1996, he was shortened to just Volkswagen Cabrio (Volkswagen Cabrio). The distinctive features of the model were the built-in tubular safety frame and folding top with one of the best waterproof properties among all the input of the soft roof Volkswagen. In 1997, the model survived restyling, as a result of which the interior and exterior became similar to the new Golf.
