Oldsmobile entered the market of luxury cars in 1994 with the OldSmobile Aurora model (Oldsobile Aurora), designed to compete with European and Japanese cars and relocate their younger and wealthy buyers to the OLDSMOBILE. The model possessed a long list of standard equipment and very short additional. Equipment is largely similar to the analogues from Lexus and Infiniti, however prices below. For the first time Aurora began to be sold under the OldSmobile brand in 1997, and before that the model was simply called Aurora. Such a decision was made by the management of the company to create a "living space" for the model, due to its upcoming combating competitors from Europe and Japan.
