The medium-sized sedan A6 changed the mid-size sedan of the Audi 100 business class in 1994. The range of A4 and A8, A6 occupies a central place in the company's manufacturing line. In 1995, the company proposed the Audi S6 Avant (Audi S6 Avant), the "charged" version of the sedan and the A6 station wagon, equipped with a 227-strong 5-cylinder turbo engine, full Quattro actuator and a 5-speed mechanical gearbox. In 1998, the second generation A6 was published, borrowed the main stylistic features from his "younger brother" A4. In 2000, the model has become even more luxurious and more dynamic with the introduction of modifications 2.7T and 4.2. A6 is equipped with a proprietary system Quattro permanent all-wheel drive, which makes it a unique offer in the segment of luxury sedans. S6 version was revived in 2002 in the form of the Avant S6, only in the station wagon, equipped with a 340-horsepower 4.2-liter engine of the V8, all-wheel drive and 5-speed "automatic" with Tiptronic manual shift.
